PSY223

Course The philosophy and methods of science focusing particularly on experimentation in the investigation of problems and issues in psychology including
Description ethical considerations in the conduct of experimental research. The student is expected to design and conduct experiments in psychology, write research
reports and present and defend the findings of the experiment. (Based on the CHED CMO. No 34 s 2017. Policies and Standards for Undergraduate
Programs in Psychology.

This course will expose you to how practicing psychologists are able to do their job based on scientific principles and theories; the basis of intervention
and the prediction of behavior that you are all excited about; and an introduction to basic scientific methodology particularly on experimentation –
procedures and methods used in psychological research and the critical evaluation of research. As well as, through this course, you will have a good
understanding how psychologists especially those whose names are written in history think and created their own psychology of behavior. All you need
is an open, unbiased perspective to everything you are sensing around you; heightened curiosity similar to a toddler; and the love for reading.
