I. TITLE: CELEBRATION OF SENIORS CITIZENS’ DAY


II. DATE: December ___, 2023
III. VENUE: Nangalisan Barangay Hall Penged Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet
IV. PARTICIPANTS: All Senior Citizens in the Barangay, MSWD Rep., MHSO
Staff
V. RATIONALE:
Old age is one of the most sensitive stages in anyone’s life, at this
point, everything around them become quite delicate and tend to become
more reliant on other people to survive even if they do not want to.
Although senior citizens are adults, they are still vulnerable group in our
community. Celebrating their day is to show appreciation for the seniors in
our community and to spread awareness about the issues common to
them. They have a lifetime of experience and have a lot to teach us about
enduring change and handling life’s adversity. Helping senior citizens
enables them to live a higher quality of life until the end.
VI. OBJECTIVES:
1. To improve emotional, intellectual and physical wellness of the
senior citizens.
2. To be able for the senior citizens to involve in social activities that
can help them stave off isolation and loneliness.
3. To maintain better cognitive function.
4. To promote positive interactions and relationships.

VII. ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:


The activity will start around 8 o’clock in the morning,
registration of attendees upon arrival. Prayer to be led by SC member
and welcome remarks by SC President. Zumba for senior and a
message from Punong Barangay Hon. Leeburgen C. Tumpao. A
Lecture will be presented by MSWD Staff and MHSO Staff. In the
afternoon will be a games for the senior citizens. Tokens will be
distributed.

IX. EVALUATION/ RECOMMENDATION:
“Wisdom belongs to the aged and understanding to the old”.
Spending quality time to our elderly will show them how important
they are. Relationships play a key role for healthy aging. A visit to
elderly regularly and engage in positive conversation, listening to
their stories. Always say that we care for them. “Caring for our
seniors is a great responsibility we have. Those who walked before us
have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy.”
