A Detailed Lesson Plan in T.L.

E ( Drafting )

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Identify the basic principle of orthographic and isometric projection.
2. Construct an orthographic and isometric of objects.
3. Execute student’s spatial reasoning skills through orthographic and isometric
projection.

II. Subject Matter

ISOMETRIC AND ORTHOGRAPHIC PROJECTION
Reference: Basic Drawing Textbook
Materials: Laptop, Screen, Meter stick, Activity Sheet
Values: Creativity, Patience

III. Procedure
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES

1. PRAYER
“Good morning class.” “Good Morning Sir!”

“Before we start let us pray first and ask ( One of the student will lead the prayer)
guidance to our God”.

2. CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
“Class, before we start kindly check your
place and pick up the pieces of paper under ( Students pick up the pieces of paper )
your chair then arrange your chairs
according to your rows”.

3. CHECKING OF ATTENDANCE
… “Say present when your name was called.” ( Students raise their hand and say present
as the teacher calls-in their name )
4. REVIEW OF THE PAST LESSON

Before we start our new lesson, what is our

last lesson all about? (Student raise their hands)
Expected answers are based on the past
(calling students) lesson.
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity
B. PRESENTATION
1. MOTIVATION
Calling 6 students to form 2 groups; each
group will arrange the jumbled letters on
board to form the proper word. The first (Students participation)
group to arrange all jumbled given words
wins.

They will come up with the following

words: ISOMETRIC, ORTHOGRAPHIC,
PROJECTION, VIEWS, PLANES, ANGLES,
DIMENSIONAL
( class are attentively listening )
2. DISCUSSION
Class, all the words mention on our games are
related to our topic today. Our topic is all about
ISOMETRIC PROJECTION & ORTHOGRAPHIC Isometric Projection is a pictorial
PROJECTION. representation of an object.

First let’s define those terms. Kindly read class

the definition of isometric projection.
(showing students an example of an isometric Orthographic Projection- representing
drawing) 3 dimensional object in 2 dimensions
they are also called 2D DRAWINGS
What about orthographic projection?
(showing students an example of an isometric
drawing).

We have 6 views of orthographic projection.

(showing the sample figure)
We have:
1. Top View 4. Bottom View
2. Front View 5. Rear View
3. Right Side View 6. Left Side View (class are attentively listening)

But there are only 3 major views we use in

orthographic projection.
1. Top View
2. Front View
3. Right Side View

We only used these 3 views in orthographic

projection because they are the only visible
among the 6 view in isometric projection. (class are attentively listening)

Let’s proceed on how to make an isometric

drawing and how do we project the views of
isometric drawing.
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

Ways how to make isometric drawing.

Suppose to be we are about to make an
isometric drawing of a simple cube box. ( class are attentively listening )
1. Draw a horizontal line followed by vertical
axis on the center.
2. Draw a left and right axis. Both must have
30 degrees from the horizontal line.
3. Determine the width and length of the box
then draw a vertical line.
4. Determine the height of the box then draw a (students answer based on their idea about
30 degrees left and right axis to the height the question)
then draw a vertical line.
5. The lastly project a line parallel to the left
and right axis.
6. Lastly, label now the views of the isometric
we make using PROJECTION PLANES.

PROJECTION PLANES- can easily help us to

determine the 3 principal views of orthographic
projection. ( Students attentively listening )
(demonstrate how to make planes of
projection.)

After that, we can now make our 3 principal

views which are the top view, front view and
right side view.

Let’s make a figure right now came from our

isometric box. Okay let’s do a to 2 steps block.

Who wants to make the planes of projection

first before we draw the 3 principal views of ( calling out students to participate in front )
our 2 step block.

Okay very good class.

C. GENERALIZATION
Let’s have a recap of our discussion class.
What is isometric projection? Sir, it is the pictorial representation of the
object or sometimes called 3d drawings.
Very good. What about orthographic
projection class? Sir, it is representation of 3d drawings in 2
dimensional.
We have 6 views of orthographic
projection. They are: Sir, they are the top view, front view, right
side view, bottom view, rear view and left
side view.
IV. EVALUATION
Each student will create the plate #4 activity .
In their activity they will analyze and recreate an L-shaped isometric figure given to them
and they will provide its ortographic views.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Make an advance reading on our next topic which is the alphabets of lines and their uses.
