Linguistic Rights

Linguistic rights are the human and civil rights concerning the individual and collective right to choose
the language or languages for communication in a private or public atmosphere. Other parameters for
analyzing linguistic rights include the degree of territoriality, amount of positivity, orientation in terms of
assimilation or maintenance, and overtness.

The Importance of Linguistic Rights.

The main goal of Linguistic , like all other intellectual discipline , is to increase our knowledge and
understanding the world. Since language is universal and fundamental to all human interactions, the
knowledge attained in linguistics has many practical application.

Types of Linguistic Rights.

1. Right to speak one’s own language in legal , administrative and Judicial acts.
2. Right to receive education in one’s own language.
3. Right for media to be broadcast in one’s own language.
