STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVE


1. Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to…
1.1. Language knowledge & skills
- practice and learn vocab. for inventions: telescope, ballpoint pen, Band-Aid,
rocket, thermometer.
- practice reading for specific information.
- improve critical thinking skills by giving solutions.
1.2. Competences
- improve Ss’ communication, collaboration, analytical, and critical thinking
skills.
1.3. Attributes
- highly appreciate inventors and useful inventions.
2. Teaching aids and materials
- Teacher’s aids: Student’s book and Teacher’s book, class CDs, Digital Book,
(DCR phần mềm tương tác SB, DHA (từ vựng/ cấu trúc) phần mềm trò chơi
tương tác) projector / interactive whiteboard /TV (if any), PowerPoint slides.
- Students’ aids: Student’s book, Workbook, Notebook.

STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES


A. Warm-up: 2 minutes
a. Objectives: to raise the Students’ awareness of the topic and get them ready for the
lesson.

Warm-up : Who invent this?
- Introduce students to guess the name of the
inventors: “ Before the lesson, I want you to
guess the name of the inventors”.
Light bulb – Thomas Edison
- The teacher gives students some suggestions
so that students can guess what the inventor
is. - Give answers to the teacher.
“ Do you know what is this?”
“Who invent this”
“ How does it help our lives?”
- Set a time for this activity.
- Get the answers from students.
- Lead to the new lesson.

B. Presentation: 10 minutes
a. Objectives: provide vocabulary for students .

the meanings of those words/ phrases.

- T shows the picture, translation and says:
“Guess what is this?”. - Students read 5 words again.
“Where do you see them?”

- The teacher reads the sample and the whole


class read it 2-3 times.
- The teacher will call some students to stand up
and read new words.
- Check them and give comments.
* Mini-game: Chasing pictures and catch
words.
- Teacher introduce how to play the mini-game: it
is the combination of words together creates
another meaningful word. T gives some
suggested picture to guess ,who raise their hand
first will be able to answer first and the team that
gets the most point will win.
- Teacher give each pictures on the slide and
sometimes suggests for students.
- Teacher gives out the blanked words to students
memorize clearly .
- Check and call other students to read 5 words
again.

C. Practise: 5 minutes
a. Objectives: to help students memorize vocabulary deeper
b. Content: Fill in the blank
