Amount Charles has = 53 + 7 = $60

Total amount = 45 + 53 + 60 = $158

Ratio of Charles money to total = 60 : 158  30 : 79

Ans: 30 : 79

10. Number of rotten mangoes = 35 ÷ 5 x 3 = 21

Difference between good mangoes and rotten mangoes = 35 – 21 = 14

Ans: 14

11. Let cost of a cup = u

Cost of one bowl = 4u

Cost of 3 cups = 3u

Total cost = 3u + 4u = $56

7u = 56
u = 56 ÷ 7 = $8

Cost of one bowl = 4u = 4 x 8 = $32

Difference in price between a bowl and a cup = 32 – 8 = $24

Ans: $24

Difference in number of red and blue balloons = 5u – 3u = 24

Number of white balloons = 4u = 4 x 12 = 48

At first number of books Eileen and Felice each have = u + 174 = 52 + 174

17. Let amount of money Tom had at last = 4 x 160 = $40
