WHERE IS THE PLACE OF IRIGWE APC IN BASSA LGC OF PLATEAU STATE IN
THE CURRENT DISPENSATION? (FACT FINDING)
From the simplicity of our heart, we want to thank the present administration of Hon. Chindo Gona for continuation and maintaining of the following project in Irigwe Chiefdom as follows: - Completion of the Local Government Library at Adu in kwall District - Grading of road at Renwienku to Rukuba chiefdom - Upgrading and awarding of electrification at Zike, Adu and Teegbe Prefix to your emergence as an executive chairman of Bassa L.G.A, the Irigwe APC played a pivotal role in your emergence from primary to the general election. We call on the attention of the chairman in unfair treatment of Irigwe A.P.C in the following areas: 1. CLERK OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT: From memorial, Bassa L.G.C is known with rotation of position within the three chiefdoms Irigwe, Rukuba and Pengana. We recall vividly that it is now the turn of Irigwe to benefit from the current clerk arrangement but we have been denied of it. 2. POWER TRANSFORMERS: it come to our notice that the Local Government procured three transformers to aid the electrification in the rural areas within the Local government. We applaud the chairman for this laudable stride. But the Irigwe chiefdom has not gotten its share of the power transmission transformer. We call on the attention of the executive chairman to do the needful. 3. JOB SLOT: Recently, Non-Academic Staff were employed and shared to the three chiefdoms in the local government. But Irigwe chiefdom were given the least, despite the huge confidence that the Irigwe People invested in this dispensation, the Irigwe power brokers were not consulted on the sharing. We call on the chairman to publish the sharing formula used in allocating the slot for transparency and the accountability on numerous issues bothering the chiefdom. 4. PAYMENT OF SOME RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTORS: It came to our notice that some religious instructors from the two chiefdoms have been receiving their salaries. If salaries should be paid, let it be paid holistically. Mr. Chairman take note of this proverb “When you are pealing a roasted yam of a blindman, you need to keep on talking otherwise, he will suspect that you are eating his yam”. We call on the Chairman of Bassa Local Government towards these issues raised above to do the needful and reversed some unhygienic decision for the sake of peace and tranquility in the party, since the party stands for “Justice” and we cannot trade that for mediocrity.
