PROJECT: - TIDONG HEP, DESIGN OF TRANSITION for stresses
1.0 Introduction
A steel transition from is erected at site as shown in figure above. It is assumed that
a lift of 1 to 1.5 m of concrete shall be poured at a time while doing back fill
concreting. The concrete will be first poured in sideways and subsequently we move
towards top. Load component of wet concrete poured in sideways will act towards
downside and will not buckle the steel transition from outside. Weight of wet concrete
will tend to bend the top panels from outside and same has to be checked for
bending. For the design purpose the largest panel at the top has been checked for
the bending stresses and same section are provided in other panels.
