Watch a video of the class available on various platforms and observed how it is conducted.
Type of Curriculum What curricula are present in the classroom
from your observation? 1. Recommend It is a traditional curriculum, a structured and balanced approach, covering the core subjects such as mathematics, science, and English. 2. Written There is a comprehensive document seen in the video which definitely has the outline of the specific skills and concepts the teacher needed to teach. 3. Taught The teacher follows the written curriculum by presenting lessons on a television, using a PowerPoint presentation. She also organized a group activity to enhance understanding, making the discussion interactive and engaging. 4. Supported Students used textbooks in the video which helped them with the discussion and their quiz at the end of the lesson. 5. Assessed A written quiz was conducted, covering the content the teacher had discussed and was administered in a traditional pen-and-paper format. 6. Learned It is evident in the video how engaging the students were during the discussion proper as they were able to share their interpretations, while some of them were taking notes. 7. Hidden I’ve observed that most of the girls in the classroom were wearing headbands, earrings, and more accessories than usual which shows how students may pick up on societal expectations without explicit instruction.
