TOPIC: DAY AT THE BEACH

OBJECTIVE:

 Students learn vocabulary and pronunciation.


 Be able to Identify pictures.

MATERIAL:

 Charts with pictures of the beach.


 Foods items and cooldrinks that can be taken to the beach.
 Items such as seashells and beach balls.

ASSUMPTION:
Students have limited or no
knowledge of the English
language.

ANTICIPATED
PROBLEMS:
Students may have difficulty with pronunciation and communication.

SOLUTION:
Use drill method repeatedly. Students must be confident. The teacher must be patient with their students
and make sure that they are in a comfortable space.

INTERACTION PATTERN/DETAILED STRATEGY:
Show the pictures to the students, pointing to each picture and telling them what it is and asking them to
repeat after you. Explain in the simplest action what the item is used for. Point at the colors on the ball.
And make them repeat after you the names of the colors.
PURPOSE:
In this phase the teacher should introduces the new language English by focusing on the meaning of
things before form. The purpose of this phase is to provide a comprehensive first appreciation of the
language being taught to the student.

 Use drill method.


 SS in groups of 2 and let them have turns pronouncing the words to each other.
 Pass the ball to each student from the group. Each student then chooses their favorite color and
tells the name of the color to the student next to them.
 Have a game SS in groups of 5.
 Name the picture and the student can point to the picture and if it is correct the group gets points.
PURPOSE:
For the teacher to formulate a comfortable environment for the students to be confident and stress-free
enough to practice, learn and understand the contents of the lesson.

 Teacher forms groups of 5.


 Each group has to plan a picnic to say what they will need to go for a picnic, using the words they
were taught.

PURPOSE:
To ensure students are learning the new language taught to them by the them producing their own
sentences in the English language without the assistance of the teacher. This teaches the students
confidence and independence and to ensure that the students builds on everything that the teacher taught
thus far.
