II. City problems
1. Read this text about noise and notice the vocabulary in bold.

Noise in cities
Cities can be quite noisy, like a never-ending concert! All the cars honking, people chatting, and
machines humming create a lot of sound. It's like everyone is playing their own music, but sometimes
it gets too loud. This noise can make it hard for people to relax or sleep. Imagine trying to listen to your
favorite song, but someone's playing a different tune right next to you—it can be a bit overwhelming!
So, noise is like the city's own soundtrack, but it's not always music to everyone's ears.

2. Read this text about social crimes and notice the vocabulary in bold.

Social crimes

In cities, there are some not-so-nice things that happen between people. We call them social
crimes. Like when someone takes something that doesn't belong to them, that's called stealing. It's like
if you lend a friend your toy, but they don't give it back. Another social crime is bullying, which is
when someone is mean to another person on purpose. It's like playing a game, but instead of having
fun, it makes someone feel really bad. So, social crimes are like the not-so-friendly games that some
people play, and they can make the city a bit less happy for everyone.
