Verbs
to report: to give a description of something or information about it to someone.

ex: We called the insurance company to report the theft.
To update: to make something more modern or suitable for use now by adding new
information or changing its design. (Atualizar)
To release: to give freedom or free movement to someone or something. (Liberar)
ex: He was released from prison after serving two years of a five-year sentence.

Headline: a line of words printed in large letters as the title of a story in a newspaper,
or the main points of the news that are broadcast on television or radio. (Título)
ex: The news of his death was splashed in headlines across all the newspapers.
Anchor: someone or something that gives support when needed. (Ancôra)
ex: She was my anchor when things were difficult for me.
Broadcast: a television or radio program. (Transmissão)
ex: We watched a live broadcast of the concert.
Announcement: something that someone says officially, giving information about
something.
ex: The president made an unexpected announcement this morning.
Report: a description of an event or situation. (Relatório)
Update: an act of updating something or someone with new information. (Atualização)
ex: Jo's just doing an update on the mailing list.
Connection: the state of being related to someone or something else.
ex: The connection between smoking and heart disease is well known.
Release: an occasion when someone is allowed to leave prison, etc.:
ex: Her early release from prison led to a demonstration.
Streaming: the activity of listening to or watching sound or video directly from the
internet.
ex: NTV Sports now comes with free live streaming for mobile devices.
Feed: a web page, screen, etc. that updates (= changes) often to show the latest
information.
ex: Your Twitter feed refreshes automatically to show new tweets.
Connectivity: the ability of a computer, program, device, or system to connect with
one or more others.
Coverage: the reporting of a particular important event or subject. (Cobertura)
ex: What did you think of CNN's election coverage?
Spotlight: a lamp whose beam can be directed, or a circle of light produced by such a
lamp. (Holofote)
Post: letters, etc. that are delivered to homes or places of work.
ex: I'd been away for a few days so I had a lot of post waiting for me.
Global: relating to the whole world.
ex: a global catastrophe/problem

Useful phrases
To go on air: If a program or a person is on/off (the) air, they are/are not broadcasting
on radio or television.
ex: The radio station is on air starting at 6 a.m.
To go live: If a new system, especially a computer system, goes live, it starts to
operate.
ex: Our new payments system will go live at the beginning of next month.
To pass around: to offer something to each person in a group of people.
ex: The managing editor passed the copy around to get feedback.
