Project Duration:
Date of Implementation:
March 23 - April 6, 2024

Objectives of the project:

The general purpose of this project is to blend practicality of growing food

with the beauty of traditional landscaping. Toward this end, the following
objectives are set:
1. To create a sustainable food source for the community.
2. To educate students on the benefits and practices of edible
langscaping.
3. To beautify community spaces with functional gardens.

Project Description:
A. Background of the Project
In the evolving landscape of urban communities, there is a growing
recognition of the need to re-establish a symbiotic relationship between humanity
and nature. The lack of dietary diversity among communities has led to nutritional
consequences, particularly micronutrient deficiencies which are serious
nutritional problems that affect the health and economic sectors of the country.
Swamy, B. M. (2019) The quality of the earth’s environment is dependent on
students because they are the future leaders and most qualified individuals in
protecting the environment Magulod, G. C. (2018). The disconnect between food
production and consumption has led to various socio-economic and
environmental challenges. Recognizing this, the project "Agri-Nutri: Goal-Lay for
a Healthier Buhay" endeavors to bridge this gap by integrating food cultivation
into the fabric of community life. The project emerges from this understanding, of
the practicality of growing food with the beauty of traditional landscaping, the
project seeks to foster holistic well-being, environmental stewardship, and
educational enrichment Through this initiative, we aspire to cultivate a culture of
health, sustainability, and community engagement, thereby laying the
groundwork for a healthier and more vibrant future for Poblacion, Kabacan

B. Justification of the Project

The project focuses on providing basic nutrition and encouraging healthier
habits in Poblacion, Kabacan. Its goal is to create a reliable food source, teach
students about the advantages of gardening, and enhance public spaces through
usable gardens. Moreover, the project seeks to enhance the community’s overall
well-being, environmental sustainability, education, and engagement.
With landscape architecture, we will get a sustainable and efficient option
to clear the environment of such toxins. With green plants in and around the
garden, carbon dioxide levels are always under control. Alos, plants absorb toxic
materials helping you to maintain a healthy living space.
Local recreation and leisure, protection from natural hazards, and the
production of renewable energies. For various spatial levels, we look at which
benefits landscapes provide to the community.

C. Benefits derived from the project

The target audience will benefit from the project in terms of being more
knowledgeable of the importance of vegetables in our diet that helps protect our
immune system, well-being and overall health. This project is also essential to
learning the importance of agriculture in our generation, prevention of illness\
diseasses in relation to the lack of a healthy diet. The audience will also be able
to have a new enjoyable recreational activity that will help their physical and
mental well being become better, instead lounging around they will be able to
exercise their body and mind.

D. Coverage

The area to be utilized for planting is in USMARC, with crops such as

eggplant, lemongrass, chili, spinach (alugbati), and kamote tops. After the
harvest, the crops will undergo proper cleaning and packaging in preparation for
sale. They will be sold to the vegetable market and potential customers who are
willing to buy. The said actvity will be personally carried out by assigned
students. The goal is to sell all the vegetables that have been harvested.

E. Methodology:

The goal of the project "Agri-Nutri: Goal-Lay for a Healthier Buhay" is to

get students involved in advancing nutrition and sustainable agriculture. The
strategy calls for learning about sustainable agriculture, interacting with other
students to get insight into their perspectives on farming and good food, and
implementing these environmentally friendly practices in school gardens.
Nutrition initiatives will be launched to educate peers on the importance of eating
nutritious meals, as well as to help earn profit for the next project which is the
outreach program. A group of student representatives under the guidance of
instructors and professionals in agriculture and nutrition will lead the project. To
guarantee that everyone contributes to the project's success, students will be
assigned specific responsibilities, such as maintaining the garden or evaluating
the progress. With this practical approach, we hope to inform and motivate
students to live healthier lives.
