What happened:

Mr. A R Rao (P. No – 306468, Age 55 years, Tata Steel Employee) was inspecting the surface of mill rolls manually.
During the manual inspection, his right-hand index finger got pressed between the rolls during manual handling and
he sustained minor abrasion near the tip of the finger. The IP went to Tubes Dispensary for first aid. After the First
Aid, Doctor on Duty referred him to TMH for X – Ray. X – Ray was done at TMH which was found normal after which
the IP was released from TMH.

Preliminary Findings:

1. IP was wearing all PPEs including hand gloves.

2. IP was handling the rolls manually for inspection.
3. Incident happened due to finger press between the rolls.

Immediate actions/Recommendations:

1. IP rushed to Tubes Dispensary for First Aid.

2. After the First Aid at Tubes Dispensary, Doctor on Duty referred him to TMH for X – Ray. X – Ray was done at
TMH which was found normal.
3. IP was released from TMH
