THE CHAPATI BASH 2024

Event Name: Chapati Bash

Overview:
The Chapati Bash is an annual charity event organized to provide psychosocial support and promote a
sense of community among children from various care homes in our community. Led by Joseph
Mwangi, an alumni of Wema Centre, the event brings together a dedicated committee comprising
youth groups, CBOs, friends, and well-wishers to spread joy and make a positive impact on the lives of
children.

Event Activities:

1. Chapati Making: Children will have the opportunity to participate in making chapatis with
assistance from volunteers, promoting teamwork, culinary skills, and fostering a sense of
accomplishment.

2. Fun and Games: Various entertainment activities, including games, bouncing castles, face painting, and
balloon modeling, aim to keep the children engaged, active, and entertained throughout the day.

3. Mentorship Session: A mentorship session facilitated by volunteers from Her Narrative CBO will provide
valuable guidance, support, and inspiration to the participating children, empowering them to reach their
full potential and pursue their dreams.

4. Fellowship Session: A fellowship session for prayers and sharing of the word of God offers a moment of
reflection, spiritual upliftment, and unity as participants come together to pray and share their faith.

Transportation:

Transportation assistance will be provided to children from institutions that may not be able to afford
transportation to the event, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to attend and enjoy the festivities.

Donation Requests:

Donations of food items such as baking flour, cooking oil, beans, meat, charcoal, and club soda are welcomed.

Participants:

This year we envision approximately 500 participants including wema Centre kids, volunteers and the
committee.
