Acceptance Criteria

Design Criteria vs. Job Objectives

Cementing Design Assumptions

3 of 23

Schlumberger-Private
1. All WCS equipment should be checked by the supervisor on location upon arrival to location, with SL0
forms. Filled out and documented for every piece of equipment.
2. All calculations for volumes and chemicals should be confirmed with client company man and then
confirmed with engineer in charge.
3. Chloride content and water temperature should be checked before mixing fluids. If there are variations
in chloride content and temperature from lab reports, supervisor must call engineer in charge
immediately.
4. Confirm displacement volume with actual casing tally (client company man and WS supervisor should
cross-check calculations)
5. Displacement volumes must be closely monitored from Mud tanks prior and during the entire job
6. Slurry should be weighed by mud engineer with pressurized mud balance.
7. Labeled sample bottles must be used to take at least 2 gallons of fluid for rig water, spacer, each mix
fluid and mud used for the job.
8. Labeled sample sacks must be used to collect at least 5 lbs of cement from each silo on the job.
9. Check data acquisition and accuracy of CAT Monitor with water when circulating the unit upon arrival
to location.
10. WCS Supervisor should discuss all emergency and contingency plans with his crew and client
foreman before job begins.

1. Failure of the NRD (Density measurement) of the cement slurry

1st. Pressurized Mud Balanced to be used
2nd. Mud Engineer or Derrick Man to manually measure the density
2. Slurry mixing jet or hopper become plugged
1st. Stop mixing slurry and remove hopper and clean-up quickly
2nd. Resume mixing
3. Data Acquisition System Fail
1st.Mixing and pumping should be continuing, under no circumstances should the pumping
stop
2nd.The final volume will be based on the physical count of the slurry
4. Sudden pressure increase observed at surface during the cement job.
1st. The maximum treating pressure to be determined before the job. In case of a sudden
increase in treating pressure of more than 50%, this indicates some problem exists in the well
and cement. Call Cairo office for advice. If contact not established, then:
i. Reduce the pump rate and resume pumping if possible.
ii. If pumping at slow rate is not possible, then stop pumping.
iii. Bleed off pressure and observe return.
iv. Co. Man will decide on the next plan.

WELLCLEAN III Maps

█ No cement slurry Slurry concentration is less than 10 % (by unit of volume).

The concentration is below minimum threshold to consider that cement is present.
█ High risk Slurry concentration is between 10 % and 50 % (by unit of volume).
of contamination There is no chance of finding hard cement when tagging within a few hours.
█ Medium risk Slurry concentration is between 50 % and 90 % (by unit of volume).
of contamination It is possible to find some soft cement when tagging but it will be most likely not strong enough to
kick off the well or even to provide a proper wellbore isolation.
█ Low risk Slurry concentration is between 90 % and 100 % (by unit of volume).
of contamination Cement plug should be designed in such a way the target of the top of cement should be within
the ‘green risk’ zone. Hard cement should be found in that zone once compressive strength has
developed, i.e. after the duration determined by the lab tests at downhole condition.
