1 Surface Preparation :

PCC surface shall be free of dirt, cavities, sharp


protrusions, foreign particles, standing water etc. Grind or fill
surface at cold joints where each concrete pour is at different
level to provide smooth & level surface. The surface does
not need to be dry, but standing water must be removed.
2 Application:

The 1.2 mm thick Fully Bonded HOPE membrane shall be laid


over the PCC before casting the RCC slab, on
horizontal surface area with standard 75 mm selvedge laps
and 75 mm end laps.

Peel back the plastic release liner from between the side
overlaps as the two layers are bonded together. Ensure a
continuous bond is achieved without creases and roll
firmly with a hand roller.

End laps of 75mm shall be sealed by removing the sand


particulate layer up to HOPE surface with a hot air toolby
scraping it off and shall be sealed with a double side coated
Adhesive tape applied at the lap zone with firm rolling of the
overlapping membrane. End laps In the membrane shall be
provided In a staggered manner

The Prebend membrane shall be turned up on to a


vertical surface for minimum 300 mm & thereafter
continued as part of the outer concrete wall face

Adequate care shall be taken by main civil contractor while


tying rebar to avoid unnecessary damages to the membrane

Treatment to Penetration of pipes I sleeves,etc. up to


3 100 mm diameter

Sealing around the base junction will be done with the


Prebond membrane and any type of Pipe I Sleeve, etc. using
liquid applied Polyurethane flashing system

4 Treatment around Periphery joints of piles

Liquid resin based flashing system will be applied at the


junction of Prebend membrane and the pile head vertical
surfaces with approx. minimum 75 mm overlaps on the
Prebond membrane as well as on the pile head vertical
surface as per recommendations etc.

5 Sealing around Plunge column Penetrations

Liquid resin based flashing system will be applied to seal the


junctions I interface between the plunge column and the
Prebond membrane with an overlap of minimum 100
mm of the flashing system on Prebond membrane
surface as well as on the column face

After completion of first mesh layer of bottom rebar,


inspection of the membrane shall be done. On minor
damages the area shall be marked and cleaned to be sealed
with minimum 7Smm x 75mm size double sided tape.
However in case of major damage an oversize patch of 1.2
mm thick Dr. Flxlt Prebond membrane shall be provided by
using double sided Tape at the edges 75mm onto the
surrounding areas of the membrane
