MINUTES OF MEETING IN HOMEROOM GUIDANCE 2021

SCHOOL ORIENTATION ON GUIDANCE PROGRAM

GRADE III- MASINOP

A. Attendance- There are 15 parents attended the orientation.


B. Agenda
I. HOMEROOM GUIDANCE PROGRAM

Homeroom Guidance program was the first topic discussed by Ms. Mae Dimson, School
Guidance Program Coordinator. She introduced that Homeroom Guidance was included in
the curriculum. It promotes the rational thinking, healthy behavior and positive disposition.
It is dedicated in improving the academic / personal, social and career development needs
of learners in a developmental, comprehensive and proactive manner, most especially in
this pandemic. She also added that Homeroom Guidance Curriculum is important to ensure
access to quality guidance and counselling matters for different learners. It is very important
that they have consent of the parent before they undergo counselling. Statement of
Confidentiality was given emphasis, including the Rights and Responsibilities of the Client.

II. COUNSELLING AND REFERAL SYSTEM

Counselling and referral system was also discussed by the speaker. She stressed out that
referral is one of the guidance services which was provided for the learners in obtaining
specialized services. This requires a wide range of internal services. This requires a wide
range of internal pastures and individual professions, fields and interest that could address
the learners present issues, concerns and problems.

III. SCHOOL LEARNING CLINIC PROGRAM

The School Learning Clinic Program, Master Teacher and Chairman of Grade two, Mrs.
Novelita P. Luriz presented the rationale of SCLP that addresses the academic concerns of
the learners. It allows the learners to support them with their strategy. She also informed
that every Monday to Friday, there were teachers assigned in SLCP. There were also two
ways to maximize the SLCP; 1.) Via Online which can be used for those who have no time to
go to school which they can contact teachers through text, phone calls and messenger for
information and clarifications. 2.) Walk in, in which parents can go to school to personally
ask and clarify topic concerns. This was open to all grades from Kinder to Grade 6.
IV. COMPREHENSIVE SEXUALITY EDUCATION

Comprehensive Sexuality Education was the last topic discussed by the School CSE
Coordinator Mrs. Karen Faye T. Ronquillo. It stressed out the importance of parents,
teachers and medical practitioners’ role in making all things possible with positive effects.
DepEd Order No. 31 Series of 2018, Comprehensive Sexuality Education was stated to be
included in the curriculum. It’s a process of teaching and learning about the Cognitive,
Emotional and Emotional aspects of sexuality. She discussed the importance concepts of CSE
and its important components. She also presented the data showing the increased number
of teenage pregnancy and its alarming effect and parents need to deal with it seriously.
There were learning Activities on CSE in K12 Curriculum for the learners to be
knowledgeable and equip by the information. Understanding Puberty, Adolescence, Fertility
and Reproduction will make them aware to handle changes and developments. It was also
stressed out that parents should be open minded to explain and deal with this.
