Abstract: Concrete is the most commonly used material in the field of
construction. Due to the rapid growth of construction industry the demand for concrete is increasing drastically. The huge demand for concrete has made natural resource to get impoverished. On one side, extraction of river sand in excess has conspicuous environmental impacts and on the other side, large quantity of coal ash is being produced every day in Thermal Power Station leading to many environmental problems. Major environmental issue in current scenario is reducing the environmental defects due to cement production disposal of industrial waste materials like fly ash and pond ash. . This project is also to utilize the industrially waste which attributes the pozzolanic action, for the purpose of partially replacing the cement with fly ash and pond ash with fine aggregate. M-sand is used as fine aggregate for the concrete mixture. Majorly steel is used as the reinforcement is concrete. Many of the researches are in progress to find a substitute to this material. The investigations proposed artificial fibres. The synthetic fibers, frequently used, are harmful to the environment because they are non- degradable and non-renewable. Therefore, the possibilities of replacing with the natural fibers are very essential. This study is focused on developing fly ash, pond ash and natural fiber reinforced hybrid concrete. The hybridized composite containing Abaca fiber taken as a substitute material to the reinforcement and studied the properties. Inclusion of fibre reinforcement in concrete can enhance many of the mechanical characteristics of the basic materials such as fracture toughness, flexural strength and resistance to fatigue, impact, thermal shock and spalling. In recent years, a great deal of interest has been created worldwide on the potential applications of natural fibre reinforced concrete based composites. This paper presents laboratory investigation of concrete produced using fly ash, pond ash and M60 grade. An attempt has been made to investigate characteristics of concrete and combined fly ash and pond ash mixed concrete for various parameters like compressive strength, water permeability and rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT). Results of the laboratory investigation conclude that the performance of concrete made up of combination of fly ash and pond ash is superior to that of Cement concrete. The experimental program consists of preparing concrete mixes with different percentages of fly ash and pond ash, ranging from 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% and testing them for workability, compressive strength, flexural strength, and durability for M60 Grade. The results show that the optimum replacement levels of fly ash and pond ash are respectively, for achieving the maximum strength and durability of concrete. So that it is aimed to investigate the strength and durability with the fibers of abaca reinforcement
