I. Objectives

At the end of a 50-minute discussion, the students should be able to:


a. identify words with short “a” sound in CVC pattern
b. read words with short “a” sound in CVC pattern; and
c. appreciate the value of cooperation.

C. Lesson Proper
Words with short “a” sound in CVC

CVC pattern- three letter words that


follows a consonant, vowel, consonant
pattern.

(recall the ABC’s)


Vowels- A E I O U
Consonants- B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M,
N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.

(I will show picture words with short “a”


sound in CVC pattern.
D. Group Activity
The students will be divided into 3
groups. Each group will have different
activities to answer.

Group 1: Fill in the Blanks


Directions: In a piece of paper fill in the
missing letter in the blank to form a word
with short “a” sound in CVC pattern.

Group 2: Word Hunt


Directions: In the poem provided, hunt for
words with short “a” sound in CVC
pattern.
Write it in your notebooks in order.

Group 3: Guess the picture


Directions: Guess the name of the given
picture with short “a” sound in CVC
pattern and write the correct answer in
your papers.
