Motivational: (5 minutes)

Activity 1: “Four Pics One Word”

The teacher will call a student to answer the picture in the PPT.

A. ACTIVITY (10 minutes)

Activity 2: “Guess Me”

1. The teacher will be having an activity by pair.

2. Each pair will need to answer the question base on the diagram.

3. The teacher will flash the question in the PPT.

4. The teacher will choose 4 pairs to answer it through oral recitation.

The venn diagram below shows the probabilities of grade 10 students

joining either soccer (S) or Basketball (B).

B. ANALYSIS (5 minutes)

To develop the critical thinking skills of the students, the teacher will

ask the oral questions about the activity.

1. What was the diagram tell you?

2. How did you determine the probabilities?

3. How were you able to find the total number of students in grade 10?

4. What are some notations that are used in your study of sets in

grade 7 that you can still recall?

C. ABSTRACTION (10 minutes)

Union of events A and B, denoted by A U B, consists of all outcomes

that are in A or in B or in both A and B. It corresponds to combining

descriptions of the two events using the word “or”.

Activity 3: “Warm That Mind Up!”

1. The teacher will be having a group activity.

2. Each group will answer the exercises given.

1.) In the experiment of rolling a single die, find the union of the events

E: "the number rolled is even" and T : "the number rolled is greater

than two"

2.) A two-child family is selected at random. Let B denote the

event that at least one child is a boy, let D denote the event that the

genders of the two children differ, and let M denote the event that the

genders of the two children match. Find B U D and B U M.

E. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION (8 minutes)

Direction: Draw a venn diagram base on the given. Answer

individually in ¼ sheet of paper.
