INTRODUCTION
On-the-job training, or OJT is a time efficient and cost-effective method of training and
usually the principal method used for upskilling employees, increasing production, and
improving efficiency.
Work immersion also develops competencies, work ethic, and values relevant to pursuing further
education and/or joining the world of work. It allows students to acquire and develop skills as
Many students find it challenging to start a professional life immediately after university. OJT
helps students assimilate into the new workplace and boosts their confidence. From the
beginning, it makes students feel like valuable, contributing team members. It also allows them
to collaborate with trainers, co-workers, and peers and develop relationships for professional and
organizational development.
Students undergo OJT at the start of their professional careers. At this point, they only have
theoretical knowledge and little practical experience. OJT helps students identify their potential
and polish their skills to fit into a rapidly growing job environment. During OJT, students learn
by observing their co-workers, asking questions, and taking measured risks. They also receive
constant feedback on their performance. As students discover their strengths and weaknesses,
they learn to accept their mistakes, find practical solutions and confidently face challenges in

OBJECTIVES
It helps my ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form. Develop an
awareness of ethical and social impacts related to software and hardware. Gain the ability to
engage in lifelong learning in the field of computing or any field that they may choose to enter. It
can also develop my understanding of how computing technology presents new ways to address
problems; and to use computational thinking to analyse problems and to design, develop and
evaluate solutions.
EXPECTED OUTPUT
Since I was deployed on a computer shop, I expected that we will encode and print more. But not
only that, I want to improve my socialization skills since I was supposed to ask, answer and
explain to the customers. I also expected that I will gain knowledge on how computer shops
work (and I guarantee that they working in a computer shop is not easy). Lastly, I want to
improve my understanding since I know I will be dealing a lot of customers that are angry, not in
My work usually starts at 7:25 in the morning and ends at usually 5:30/5:45 on Algel Printing

ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
DAY 1
We arrived at Algel Santa Maria exactly 8:10 am. We are greeted by the workers and made some
new friends. I was a bit nervous at first because it was my first time working on a computer shop.
The first thing that I did was inserting ribbons on the medals, it was hard but enjoyable. I was
shaking at first because I was afraid that I’ll get burned on the stick (used to create a hole in
order to lock the medal in place). I also learned how to laminate. We also printed a lot of
documents, pictures, and IDs. I enjoyed talking to customers. I then joined the other students on
printing the t-shirts. It was easy but very tiring since we had a lot of t-shirts to print. We stopped
at 12:30 to get some lunch. Then, we started working again at exactly 1:00 pm since we had a lot
of customers. Then, we continued on working on the shirts but because there still a lot of it, we
decided to stop and continue working on the next day. We stopped working on 2:34 pm.
DAY 2
I arrived on my workplace at 7:34 am. When I arrived, I saw that they are already working on the
shirts that we did not finish. Immediately, I joined and helped them. It was a lot of work but not
tiring since there was less shirts to print. We then folded the clothes that we had printed and used
plastic bag to get it ready for pick-up. Then, we cut the logos for printing. I learned how printing
press works. I tried it and it was very enjoyable. Since it was a computer shop, of course we also
did printing, encoding, photocopy, and laminating. We had a lunch break at 12: 44 pm and started
working again at 1:10 pm. Then, we removed the plastic that coves the design of the sash that
they printed. We also cut a lot of pictures. The most enjoyable part of this day was when I
learned how to make magnet stickers. I thought making them was hard. Well, it was complicated

but with assistance and practice it became easy. The day ended with a lot of printing, and we also
DAY 3
I arrived at my workplace at 7:47 am. Right after I arrived, I cut the flaglets that my boss
assigned me. It was a lot so I needed some help. Then, I proceeded on cutting the logos for the
printing press. We also cut tarpaulins and folded some clothes. And obviously, printing,
encoding, developing pictures and photocopying. The day ended at 5:00 pm.
DAY 4
I arrived at 7:42 am. On this day, I learned how to print tarpaulins. It was tricky but enjoyable.
We also did a lot of printing, photocopying, and cutting tarpaulins again. We also made some
keychains. This day, I also learned how to edit 2x2 and 1x1 pictures in photoshop. We called it a
DAY 5
I arrived at exactly 7:43 We didn’t do much this day. We only did printing and encoding since
they have trophies to make. Since they did not teach us how to do trophies, we only helped them
on gluing the bottom parts of the trophies and removing the sticker then trimmed the edges. The
DAY 6
I arrived in Algel at 7:36 am. We also didn’t do much on this day since we are focused on the
trophies and also printed cups. But obviously, we printrd, laminated and encoded.

DAY 7
I arrived at exactly 7:46 am. We printed the cups that we didn’t finish yesterday. We also printed
the sash of Mr. and Ms. Kalikasan HNHS 2024 and it is an honor to make the sash of the
candidates and ribbons of judges. We also printed, laminated and encoded. The day ended at 5:15
pm.
DAY 8
I arrived at my workplace at 7:38 am. This is my most favorite day because I was the one
assigned to work at the computer, I enjoyed encoding printing and editing the whole day. Also,
we took many pictures for our memories working there. The day ended on 5:10 pm.
DAY 9
This was the day I arrived early(7:16 am). I immediately printed, laminated and encoded. We did
print many sash. That’s what we did the whole day. The day ended on 5:20 pm.
DAY 10
I arrived at 7:30 pm. We didn’t much on this day, we only wrapped the cups on plastic bags and
printed, encoded and developed pictures. The day ended on 5:30 pm.

Algel Printing Services is mainly a computer and printing shop. There are two owners, which
makes it a “Partnership” type of business. They offer printing, encoding, laminating, rush ID’s,
tarpaulin, developing pictures, and clothes printing. Computers and gadgets are now important
and popular nowadays but not all of us know how to fix a computer if there is a problem. That is
why, Algel offers computer and laptop repair and OS Installation. The business is located in Sta.
Maria, Ilocos Sur. It is near a public market, which makes it an ideal and competitive location.

CHAPTER IV
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
* Since there was a previous school that went there before us, we experienced favoritism. They
didn't guide us much on the first day because they usually let people from other schools do the
work since they already know how to do it. The only thing that we did are the basics.
* There is this worker that every time she doesn't like what we did, she will embarrass us.
* There was not a lot of chairs. So, we don’t get to sit down every time we are tired so we just sit
on the floors.
CHAPTER V
Though we have only been there for 10 days, it’s enough to say that I have learned so much. I
learned how to edit pictures, print documents, scan documents, arrange medals, arrange trophies,
Not only that, I also learned to extend my patience and that I developed my social skills because
of my interaction with many people. I also learned how to adjust my feelings and not get angry
easily.

CONCLUSION
The 10 days was worth it. It did not felt like it was 2 weeks because I enjoyed my work
immersion a lot and learned many things. Even if there are challenges, I know it is a part of
working. Algel family is very lovely, they are kind, hospitable and generous. I felt like we are a
family. I never thought that I’ll learn a lot, but thanks to their guidance, I learned many things
