1. Prepositions of time
✓ In
 Các tháng: in May, in June, in August, etc.
 Các năm: in 1999, in 2000, in 2014, etc.
 Các mùa: in spring, in summer, in autumn, in winter
 Các buổi trong ngày: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening
 Các cụm cố định: in a minute, in an hour, etc.

 Các thứ trong tuần: on Sunday, on Monday, on Tuesday, etc.
 Các ngày trong tháng: on March 8th, on February 10th, etc.
 Buổi của một thứ cụ thể: on Monday morning, on Monday afternoon, on Monday
evening, etc.

✓ At
 Giờ cụ thể: at 8.00, at 9.00, etc.
 Các cụm cố định: at night, at noon, etc.
 Các kì nghỉ (toàn bộ những ngày trong kỳ nghỉ): at New Year, at Easter, at Christmas

✓ Other prepositions
 Before : trước
 After: sau
 Since: kể từ
 Till/ Until: cho đến khi
 During: trong lúc
 From … to: từ … đến

2. Prepositions of place
✓ In
 Thành phố, thị xã: in Hanoi, in Paris, etc.
 Đất nước, châu lục: in Vietnam, in Asia, etc.
 Vùng miền, khu vực: in the North, in the desert, etc.
 Bên trong một vật: in the drawer, in the box, etc.
 Bên trong phòng, hay tòa nhà: in the kitchen, in the living room, in the factory, etc.
 Các cụm cố định: in + cities/ towns/ streets/ an armchair/ the queue, etc.

 Các đảo: on Mykonos, on Cat Ba, etc.
 Trang (sách, báo…) :on page 20, on page 15, etc.
 Trên bề mặt đồ vật: on the table, on the wall, etc.
 Các cụm cố định: on + the left/ the right/ the floor/ a chair, etc.

✓ At
 Tại một địa điểm xác định: at the park, at the station, etc.
 Địa chỉ: at 132 London Road, at 12 Ly Thuong Kiet street, etc.
 Tại một sự kiện: at a party, at a meeting, at a wedding, etc.
 Các cụm cố định: at home/ school/ university/ work/ the bus stop, etc.
✓ Other prepositions
 In front of: đằng trước
 Between: ở giữa (hai vật)
 In the middle: ở giữa
 Behind: đằng sau
 Beside: bên cạnh
 Next to: bên cạnh
 Opposite: đối diện
 Under: bên dưới
 Above: bên trên

Chú ý: Cả “in” và “at” đều có thể dùng cho địa điểm, nhưng “in” thường được dùng
với những địa điểm lớn hơn và “at” dùng cho những nơi nhỏ hơn.
Ex: We had a good time in the countryside
(Chúng tôi đã có một khỏng thời gian vui vẻ ở quê)
