Kalayaan SPED Teachers Attends 2023 SNED Summit

The Kalayaan SPED Teachers Mrs. Joana Marie C. Marbebe of San Antonio
Elementary School and Mrs. Rhoda Ogoy of Longos Elementary School attended the
2023 Special Needs Education (SNED) Teachers Summit with the theme: “SDO Laguna,
Engaging, Encouraging and Empowering Teachers for Inclusive Education last June 21,
2023 at F. Benitez Memorial Elementary School in Pagsanjan, Laguna which aimed to
provide an avenue for teachers to share best practices and develop advocacy strategies
on inclusive education in the classroom and school community.
The program started with the registration, followed by the Ribbon-Cutting of
SNED- LR Expo, then a discussion about Breaking Barriers to Inclusion and finally
presentation of accomplishments and best practices from elementary up to senior high
school where these two Kalayaan SPED teachers shared their best practices and
strategies to other 110 SPED teachers and teachers handling SPED from the 24 Sub-
Offices of Laguna.
When asked about her best practices, Mrs. Rhoda Ogoy stated that cooking every
Friday , artwork and basic computer lessons helped her to train and educate her
students more. Mrs. Joana Marie C. Marbebe mentioned that a quote saying “Every
student can learn just not on the same day or in the same way” by George Evans, always
reminds her that everyone can learn on his or her time frame.
Indeed, Salute to all SPED teachers of Kalayaan Sub-Office and SDO Laguna for
providing the best education to our special need learners.
