respect”.She treated everyone she met with kindness and
respect, regardless of their age or background.
One day,Maya encountered a grumpy old woman who
was rude to others.Instead of reacting with anger,Maya continued
to treat her with respect and kindness. She give her a bouquet of
flowers have 134 petals in 5 days. The old woman liked it much.
Gradually,the old woman’s behavior started to change.She
realized the impact of Maya’s respectful attitude and treating others
with kindness as well.

2. How many days Maya gave the old woman a bouquet of flowers?
3.If Maya multiplied the petals of flowers, she gave the old woman
for five days, how many petals in all?

5. What moral message can be said about the power of respect and
kindness in shaping relationships?

Analysis
1. How do we multiply 2- to 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers with
regrouping?
2. What have you noticed when we multiply the numbers? Is there a
regrouping? What did we do to regroup them?

Abstraction

How do we multiply 2- to 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers with

regrouping?

In multiplying 2- to 3-digit numbers by 1-digit number with

regrouping:

Step 1: Arrange the two numbers vertically with the multiplicand

place above the multiplier.

Step 2: Multiply the 1-digit multiplier to each digit of the

multiplicand from right to left starting from ones place then to the
tens place and extend up to the hundreds place if exist.

When the product upon multiplying each pair of digits is a 2-digit

number, apply regrouping.
 bring down the digit in the ones place of the product and
carry over its digit in the tens place;
 multiply again the multiplier to the next digit of the
multiplicand then add the regrouped digit
