A. Preliminary Procedure

Everybody stand and let us pray.
2. Greetings
Good morning class!
3. Energizing Song
Class do you want to sing a song?
Nice, then let us sing the song entitled “Math Class”
3. Motivation
(show a picture of baskets full of mangoes)
Ask: Class, about how many mangoes do you think are contained in the baskets?
Explain that what they gave are just estimates. They did not actually count the number of
mangoes in the baskets?
C. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Present this situation to the class:
The garden club is selling waling-waling orchid at Php 7, 645 a pot for fund
raising. If 123 pots were sold, about how much money did the club gets?
Ask:
Class have you seen orchids? Isn’t beautiful?
What can these waling-waling orchids do to our surroundings?
Are they important to us? Why? Instill the value of love for nature.
How do you show your love for nature?
Analyze the problem:
How much does a pot of orchid plant cost?
How many pots were sold?
What phrase in the problem indicates that an estimated product is being asked for?
