Grade & Section: 12 - CHARITY Task: Narrative for Camp

As I stepped into the Philosophy of the Human Person youth camp, I felt a mix of excitement
and nervousness. The atmosphere buzzed with anticipation, and I couldn't wait to dive into the
activities ahead. One of the highlights of the camp was the basketball tournament, and I eagerly
signed up to compete in the Non-pro category. Playing alongside my peers, the competitive spirit
was palpable as we dribbled and shot our way through each game.After the tournament, it was time
to freshen up for the evening's events. We were instructed to take a bath in preparation for the
upcoming rosary, dinner, and JS prom dance. The scent of soap filled the air as we hurried to get
ready for the evening's festivities. I was honored when I was asked to lead the rosary. Standing in
front of my peers, I guided them through the prayers with reverence and sincerity.

Following the rosary, we gathered around the table to share a meal together. Laughter and
conversation flowed freely as we enjoyed the delicious food prepared for us. Then came the moment
I had been eagerly awaiting – the JS prom dance. However, as the music started playing, I found
myself standing alone on the dance floor, unnoticed by my peers. Despite the initial disappointment,
I resolved to make the most of the evening. As the night progressed, a surprise program was
introduced by Sir Jed – a confession session where we could approach someone we wanted to
confess or apologize to. Although hesitant, I chose not to participate, feeling unsure of what to say.

After the confession program, we were asked to reflect on our experiences. While some of
my classmates took this opportunity to introspect, I struggled to find the words to express my
thoughts and emotions. As the night drew to a close, we prepared our tents for sleep. Under the
blanket of stars, I drifted off, my mind still buzzing with the events of the day. The day with energy
and enthusiasm. After the dance, we quickly showered and headed to the cathedral for mass. The
solemnity of the service provided a moment of reflection and peace amidst the hustle and bustle of
camp life. With hearts full and minds enriched, we packed our belongings and bid farewell to the
Philosophy of the Human Person youth camp, carrying with us memories and lessons that would
stay with us long after the campfire had dimmed.
