Sub: Complaint against reckless driving by Teenagers

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily I would like to ventilate my grievances regarding the
fast growing menace of underage driving in Kolkata, causing frequent fatal accidents.

Nowadays a number of teenagers are seen driving cars and bikes without a valid license. School
students drive recklessly without maintaining proper safety measures and disobeying traffic rules. The
parents are either unaware of the fact that their wards are driving dangerously or they are absolutely
indulgent to it. In the modern society it has become a status symbol among the teenagers to rash drive and
have fun with their friends. Most of these drivers are amateurs and hence accidents are rampant, hit and run
cases are on the rise. At times the accidents are fatal and several pedestrians get injured and even die. Reports
say that a number of underage drivers have also lost their lives in terrible accidents in recent times in India.
Hence, government and police should take necessary actions to stop reckless driving by teenagers. Driving
without a valid license must be strictly prohibited. Proper campaigns should be held to make teenagers aware
of the menace of reckless driving. Moreover heavy fine should be levied and strict punishment should be
imposed on the offenders.

I would be highly grateful if you kindly look into gravity of the matter and provide some space in
your prestigious daily. If the citizens diligently follow the traffic rules then a number of innocent lives will be
saved. Kindly do the needful at your end.

Thank You
Yours sincerely

Sub: Complaint regarding the menace of fire crackers and loud microphones

Sir,

The world has already reached its tipping point due to the excessive pollution caused by human
being for centuries. In the recent times, pollution level is on the rise and through this letter I would like to
ventilate my concern regarding the menace of pollution caused by the firecrackers and loud music in Kolkata
during the festive season.
The people of Kolkata enjoy the greatest festivals of Durga Puja and Diwali in the month of October
and November. During this time, the clubs and the puja committees play loud music throughout the day
making lives miserable for people in the locality. The continuous use of microphones and loud music often
surpass the limited decibel. They often play music at night that hampers the sleep of the locals. This results
in health hazards for children and elderly citizens. Even after numerous complaints, the committees haven’t
paid any heed to the seriousness of the issue. Moreover, during Diwali, people burst firecrackers in an
excessive amount, resulting in extreme air pollution. Reports say that the air quality of Delhi, Kolkata and
other metropolitan cities has been terrible over years and this constant bursting of firecrackers is
deteriorating the scenario. Both the sound and the smoke emitted from fire crackers are unhealthy for human
beings and these are leading to a number of health hazards.
I would be highly grateful if you kindly look into the gravity of matter and take necessary steps against it.
Proper awareness must be created immediately to save the planet and make the world a healthy place for
humans and animals to survive. Kindly do the needful at your end.

Thank You

Yours sincerely
