Evoke Himalayan wind energy wonder
Introduction
Using the strong winds that blow over the high
peaks of the Himalayas, Himalayan wind energy
provides a sustainable and renewable source of
electricity generation for the surrounding area.
This plentiful natural resource has the potential
to significantly lessen energy shortages and the
need for fossil fuels in mountainous regions.

The first wind turbine generator in Nepal was of 20 kW capacity (10 kW

each) installed Kagbeni of Mustang District in 1989
Empowering Sustainable Futures with Wind

What is wind?
Wind is caused by the uneven heating of the Earth's surface by the sun, the
irregularities of the Earth's surface, and the Earth's rotation. Wind speed
and consistency are crucial factors in determining the feasibility and
efficiency of wind energy generation.

What about wind energy?

Wind energy is a form of renewable energy that harnesses the
power of the wind to generate electricity.
How is wind energyproduced??
Using turbines, wind energy is produced by capturing the
kinetic energy of moving air

Why it supports Sustainable Development?

By offering renewable power, reducing emissions, creating jobs, and
enhancing energy security.

Wind-Solar Hybrid
Power System
This project located in Hariharpurgadi-sindhuli, Nepal has
erected 20 kilowatt wind turbines and 15 kilowatt-peak
solar photovoltaic panels, and it currently supplies
electricity to 83 rural houses. The system generates 110 kWh
of energy per day, more than enough to fulfill the village's 87
kWh daily electrical consumption being largest wind energy
producing plant

Nepal also has mini-grid wind-solar system in rural village of Dhaubadi the Nawalparasi district(40kwh daily production)
Analysis
The potential for wind energy in Nepal is
enormous, especially in high-altitude
areas. Innovations in turbine technology are
essential to effectively utilizing Nepal's wind
resources.
