First English Assignment

Course: History 1st Year, 2023, 2nd Semester

Topic: Tenses (Present and Past Simple)

The present simple is used to talk about routines, facts, states that are permanent, and things that
are true. The past simple tense is used to talk about completed actions, regular actions and
successive actions in the past.
Instructions:
 Explain the different situations where the Present and Past Simple Tenses are used
(contextualization).
 Provide sentence structures for each tense (show how sentences are formed in both Present
and Past tenses);
 Provide examples in Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative forms for each tense.
 Give 4 examples of sentences in the Past Simple with irregular verbs

Organizational criteria
a) The fieldwork must be carried out individually. Group work will not be accepted under any
circumstances.
b) Cases of plagiarism from the internet and among colleagues will receive a zero grade.
c) The grade of the assignment varies from 0 (zero) to 20 (twenty) marks.
d) Use Times New Roman font, size 12, spacing 1.5, justified text with upper and left margins
of 3 cm and lower and right margins of 2 cm.
e) The assignment must contain between 10-20 pages (depending on the nature of the subject,
it may be less or more) including the pre-textual elements.
f) The assignment must contain: Introduction, Development, Conclusion or Final
Considerations, and Bibliography.
g) In the elaboration of the assignment, it must follow the APA Norms, 6th edition.
