DAY 1

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

This module in Science 8 aim to acquaint students with the Force, Motion and Energy that
help you to understand and explain the natural phenomena and increase your awareness of the role
of human beings in preserving and protecting the environment. It focuses on the science and
technology as prime movers of information and productive living. Each quarter which divides into
units that test your remembering content, analyzing ideas, complying concepts and performs
laboratory activities.

STUDENTS’ ORIENTATION
Hello everyone. Have a nice day. I am Mr. Jogilito B. Paragua, You can Call me (Sir Jogil) your Science
8 teacher for this school year 2021- 2022. And since this is our first meeting, I will be discussing to you
the coverage of our subject, the Grading System (what would be our basis for your grade), Rules and
Regulations for Students and your module. I will also discuss how will we come up with your laboratory
experiment even though you are in your home.

Since this school year is different from usual classroom set up. I hope you will cooperate with me in this
whole school year. We will help each other, collaborate and you can ask me what ever as long I can help.
In this year we are going to discuss different topic involving biological and physical science. It composed
a unit: 1. Newton’s 1st law of motion 2. Newton’s 2nd law of motion 3. . Newton’s 3rd law of motion

Now, for the Grading System, here is it will breakdowns of the requirements you need to accomplish in
my subject

Laboratory Experiment
Promptness

For written works, Assignment is also included. All assignment will be place on your science notebook.
Books are needed in this subject since every module there are activities that can be found on it. For the
quizzes it will be on your module be sure to read carefully your module where I indicate your quiz.
Sometime it a double purpose it can be activities same time quiz. For Modular Approach, some activities
will be written in science notebook and will be pass one week before the schedule examination. For
Laboratory Experiment recycled material or available materials will be used. Extension will be given to
those students with valid reason. Project will be given one month before the deadline given. If the project
were pass after the deadline, only 1- or 2-days extension. If you did not meet the deadline there will be
deduction on. Be responsible and be on time on passing.

And for the Rules and Regulation:

Common Online Learning Rules

a. No screenshots or recording during video conferencing. Respect other people’s privacy.
b. Keep your microphone muted unless you are asked by the teacher to unmute.
c. Use the chat box properly. Only send important messages and avoid spamming.
d. Make sure that your camera only sees things you want other people to see.
e. Make use of the multiple channels of communication in the LMS including commenting,
private comments, direct messages, chat boxes, etc.
f. Be punctual with synchronous learning sessions and asynchronous deadlines.
g. Do not upload online materials, activities or quizzes.
h. Demonstrate proper online ethics and etiquette. Observe class rules as set by the subject
teacher.
i. Make sure to wear proper decent attire during online discussion.
j. Do not turn off your camera. Turned off camera shall be marked absent.
Modular Distance Learning
This is a unit of work course of instruction that is virtually self-contained and a method of teaching that is
based on building up skills and knowledge in discrete units. It is a method of teaching that does not
require the presence of the teacher, and thus should be designed with this in mind. Students who do not
have a good internet connection may opt in for this mode of learning.

Common Self – Learning Modules Rules and Regulations for Students

a. Be punctual with the deadlines of the modules.
b. Keep the module clean and free from folds.
c. Keep your modules in a plastic envelope to keep them safe from dirt and liquids.
d. Make sure to read and answer everything.
e. Study and answer the modules. You may seek help from your family if you’re stuck. However, do not
let them do the activities for you, because then you will have learned nothing.
f. Be honest with how you feel about the module and provide feedback to your teacher. Your feedback is
important to the development of the Self-Learning Modules.
g. The modules are not to be photographed or recreated

Distribution and Retrieval

a. Learning Modules are made available at the office. Parents may opt to get the modules.
b. Students will study the modules and answer the exercises provided
c. Modules will be submitted back to LEASRI
d. In the event that the parents will not be able to get the modules at the office, LEASRI will find ways on
how these modules will be distributed to them.
