Sounds fundamentals
Sound Characteristics
Sound is a longitudinal wave which consists of compressions and rarefactions travelling through
a medium. Sound wave can be described by five characteristics: Wavelength, Amplitude, Time-
Period, Frequency and Velocity or Speed. The minimum distance in which a sound wave repeats
itself is called its wavelength.

Density Elasticity
Density, mass of a unit volume of a Elasticity, ability of a deformed material body
material substance. to return to its original shape and size when the
forces causing the deformation are remove

Temperature Doppler Effect

Temperature is a physical The Doppler effect or Doppler shift is the

quantity that expresses hot and change in frequency of a wave in relation to
cold. It is the manifestation of an observer who is moving relative to the
thermal energy, present in all wave source
matter

Regions of Visible Lights

Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light or simply light.
A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 380 to about 750 nanometers.
In terms of frequency, this corresponds to a band in the vicinity of 400–790 THz.

The Spectrum of Visible Light

For human beings to see, it requires light, specifically what is called the visible light• Light as a
general term is any radiation that is near or even in the visible region of the electromagnetic
spectrum. The visible light is a small region in the electromagnetic spectrum. Light of
wavelengths that range from approximately 400 nanometers (nm) to 700 nanometers (nm) makes
it perceptible by the human eye. This is the only portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that
human beings can see. The sun is a common

.
When you expand visible light, it can be perceived into its different component colors. As Shown
in the figure below, the arrangement of these colors follows the acronym, ROYGBIV. This
means red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Each of the colors has a specific
frequency and wavelength. Colors on the left have long wavelengths, short frequencies, and low
energies. Meanwhile, the colors on the right have short wavelengths and high frequencies and
energies.

Producing Visible Lights Incandescence Lights

Most of the visible light on Earth comes from the They glow with light due to their extremely
sun. The sun and other stars produce light high temperatures. This way of producing
because they are so hot light is called incandescence.

Other types of Light

Neon lighting
 consists of brightly glowing, electrified
glass tubes or bulbs that contain rarefied
neon

Sodium-Vapor Lamp
A gas-discharge lamp that uses sodium in an
excited state to produce light at a characteristic
wavelength near 589 nm

Tunglen – Halogen Lights

A halogen lamp is an incandescent lamp consisting
of a tungsten filament sealed in a compact
transparent envelope that is filled with a mixture

Colors
Color is attributes and perceptions related to the wavelengths of light. It is often described
through sets of primary colors such as RGB and sets of combinations of primary colors, with
names such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or violet.

Mixing Pigments

In both cases, mixing is typically described in terms of three

color and three secondary colors. colors made by mixing two
of the three primary colors in equal amounts. All subtractive
colors combined in equal amounts make dark brown, while all
additive colors combined in equal amounts make white.
