Literacy Writing
We be diving into a small fairy tale unit. This week we
will be reading Little Red Riding Hood stories and
talking about who is the hero of the story and who is the
villain.

Students will begin to add numbers 6, 7, and 8.
They will work on understanding and solving word
problems with adding and subtracting fluently up
to 8.
Suggested homework: Practice reading and writing.

We will continue reviewing what writers do. We
will focus on capitalization, spacing,
punctuation and wow drawings. Most
importantly we will focus on being a brave
speller, using our knowledge of letter sounds to
help us write words.
We will begin a short fantasy writing unit. We
learn to create make believe stories with a hero
and a villain with magical settings. Children will
add details to their stories.
Science- Sunlight and Weather
We will begin our new unit of study in
science: Our essential question will be how
do sunlight and different types of weather
affect places?
