What Are We Learning?


Language Arts:
This week we will describe the main character in works of fiction, including their traits, motivations and
feelings by discussing their actions and words and listing adjectives to describe the character.
During word work we will continue Spalding spelling. They will learn all about the different sounds that
letters and letter combinations make and how to use those letter combinations to spell unfamiliar
words.
In writing we will continue using the writers process to write a personal narrative. We will practice
editing for common and proper nouns, and spelling.
Math: We will learn how to compare and order numbers on a number line, and how to identify
whether a number is even or odd. We are also practicing the doubles addition facts. We will begin
fact assessments on Friday.
Science: We will introduce how to use the scientific method to conduct science experiments.
