What Are We Learning?


Language Arts:
This week we will begin our Robert Munsch author study. We will focus on making connections.
During word work we will continue Spalding spelling. They will learn all about the different sounds that
letters and letter combinations make and how to use those letter combinations to spell unfamiliar
words.
In writing we are publishing and sharing our personal narratives. We will also learn about pronouns.
Math: We will learn how to locate numbers on a number line. We will also use open number lines to
solve addition and subtraction problems.
Science: We will continue using the Scientific Method to conduct experiments.
Character Trait: The character trait of the month is responsibility. Talk with your child about how
they can show responsibility at school and at home.
We will take our first MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) math test Thursday, Sept. 24th from
9:30-11:15.

Homework:
ELAR: Please have your child
read a book every night.
Spelling: Please practice the
spelling words daily. There will
be a test on Friday!

on www.xtramath.org
