Tasks

1. Offloading & Transportation of Materials Around Site Responsible

a) Duct materials will be delivered to site by transport supplied by KHANSAHEB, the large Nano Clean
majority of the ductwork will already be fabricated, sanitized and wrapped with plastic sheeting
in the KHANSAHEB workshop prior to site delivery.

b) Offloading of all materials will be predominantly carried out with the use of manual labour.
Manual labour will be the employees of Khansaheb/Nano Clean. From the unloading location Nano Clean
materials will then be transported through to the working area and stored in a dry, clean and
safe area. They will then be manually lifted to the installation area as and when required. (For
route from unloading area to site installation area see attached sketch). Work shall not proceed
until safe access to work areas shall be provided. Materials shall be moved to the work area in
safe manner and shall not block access / egress from / to the site.

c) All ductwork before installation is to be checked to ensure manufactured correctly both in size
and squareness.

d) Waste Removal – Skips will be provided by TTC. Note:- All waste removal will be by manual
labour.

Nano Clean Ltd Limited will ensure all personal are familiar with lift plans and procedures and
that correct PPE is worn.

2. Installation Works Responsible

Prior to work commencing the works area shall be suitably barriered / cordoned off and
signage displayed to restrict unauthorised persons from the area.

Suitable Mechanical aids to be used where heavy loads are to be moved or lifted in to position
such equipment shall be planned for in advance of works. Where high risk works are involved
then safety clearance must be obtained from safety department prior to proceed.

DUCTWORK

All site operatives shall receive a suitable site induction.

Step 1. Engineer in charge will instruct workers regarding the execution of the works and will Nano Clean
distribute latest version of shop drawings with all necessary available details of works.

Step 2. Engineer in charge will also check that all tools, equipment and scaffolding available are Nano Clean
in compliance with the contractor requirements / safety standards and as per necessity.

Step 3. Ductwork supports will be measured out on the overhead parent building slab taking into Nano Clean
account the following points; Ductwork supports unless otherwise indicated will be
installed to provide a minimum space of 15mm between finished covering and adjacent
work, and 100mm clearance from suspended ceiling; Supports or hangers will be placed
within 300mm of any 45O – 90O elbows; Care will be taken during setting out, that
ductwork runs between ceiling module lines so as to maintain maximum flexibility for any
future relocation of lighting fixtures or other services; Duct will be supported within
300mm of mating flanges or joints;

Step 4. After marking out of the parent building slab, holes will be drilled in to the slab using Hilti Nano Clean
type battery drill, the hole diameter will be drilled to suit self-expansion anchor bolts,
which will be knocked into the holes after drilling. Drop-rods will then be screwed into the
anchor bolt to provide the basis of the support for ductwork sections, once drop-rods
have been installed then unistrut pre-cut sections will be fitted to the bottom of the rods
using proprietary nuts, flat washers, and spring washers, the unistrut will span between
the drop-rods effectively creating a cradle type support. This will be repeated for each
length of duct at spacing’s stated on the drawing and as per the notes above.

Step 5. Ductwork will be lifted into place manually and will run between the drop rod cradle Nano Clean
supports, the screwed drop rods will have thread adjustment in either direction to provide
suitable leveling of ductwork and associated plenum boxes, where more than one duct
can be supported on one hanger the size of the hanger will be assessed on the sum of
the maximum widths.

Step 6. Supports are to be fixed at correct levels checking the bracket material is compatible with
the installation and the correct method used for thermal insulation.

Step 7. Ducting to be installed allowing sufficient space for expansion / contraction and thermal Nano Clean
insulation.

Step 8. When joining sections of ductwork together (fixing of flanges) the joints will be made as Nano Clean
per the approved/recommended SMACNA/DW144 guidelines. Fitters should
continuously check horizontal and vertical alignment of duct work and compliance with
drawings and specification requirements by using spirit level plumb or other suitable
instrument. Clean both flange faces to be joined. Add gasket jointing material to flanges
to be mated using only undamaged rust free nuts and washers join mating flanges
together along with holding clips and tighten bolts. Clean any excess jointing material
from flanges.

Step 9. All locknuts should be tightened correctly and all open ends should be cleaned from Nano Clean
debris and then covered with suitable material to prevent any ingress of debris, vermin
or moisture.

Step 10. Ductwork passing through non fire rated walls and floors will be adequately supported on Nano Clean
either side. Engineer in charge to ensure that there are no dents, distortion or buckling of
ducting during installation being aware that damaged G.I / PIR ductwork will be rejected.

Step 11. In line equipment is to be independently supported from main structure and not block
work, walls or sub-structure. Nano Clean
Step 12. Sound attenuators, fire dampers, VCDs and other plant items will be installed as per

drawings and will be supported adequately. Nano Clean

Step 13. External (pre-insulated) ductwork (hospital rooftop only) will be lined and leveled using
unistrut ‘H’ type frames which in turn are supported off floor mounted ‘Big foot fix-it foot’ Nano Clean
durable rubber feet offering built-in anti-vibration. Where it’s not possible to use the
support feet then drop-rod hanger method will be utilised following the same methods
stated in Steps 3 – 9 above.

Step 14. All duct sections will be manufactured at KHANSAHEB factory and will arrive on site at
Nano Clean
sizes stated on the drawings. The sections will be joined together/to attenuators/AHU
using ‘Mezz’ or similar type jointing flanges, gaskets and cleats in accordance with
SMACNA / DW144 guidelines.

Step 15. Engineer in charge is to check before the end of every working day that the correct
hanging procedures are being followed and that the supports are adequately supporting Nano Clean
the ductwork and associated plant equipment.

Step 16. Engineer in charge shall continuously monitor the activities to ensure that all
components indicated on the approved drawings have been installed and the installation Nano Clean
is in accordance with the contract requirements and specifications.

Step 17. Engineer in charge to ensure that the completed installation is correct, and to high
quality, all joints have been made correctly and that there is adequate spacing to allow Nano Clean
access for operation and ease of maintenance.

Step 18. Before any pressure testing and after Nano Clean initial checks TTC / Consultant need Nano Clean
to inspect the installation and approve for testing.

Step 19. Ductwork will eventually be pressure tested (if deemed to be necessary), for details refer Nano Clean
to ductwork pressure testing method statement. (G.I. & PIR Joints will be left exposed
until the pressure testing and inspection of system is completed and approved by main
contractor and consultants, note that PIR duct is pre-insulated but joints can be checked
if required). [Note – pressure testing will need to be witnessed by TTC / Consultant].

Step 20. After pressure testing the external rooftop ductwork will be clad with site standard heavy Nano Clean
duty aluminium clad sheeting.
