CROCHET PATTERN

Creepy Octopus
@fayni_toys
Important!
Hello, my name is Svitlana,
I am the author of this pattern.
Here you can find the description of the
creation process of the toys, but without
basic crochet lessons.
If you use specified materials, your toy
will be 8 cm high without tentacles (please,
pay attention, the toy size will also depend
on your crocheting density and can be
consequently different from mine).
This crochet pattern is for personal use only. It is PROHIBITED to sell and
distribute materials fully or partly!
But you can do whatever you want with a finished toy.
I would be grateful if you credit me as the author @fayni_toys and use
#taki_fayni when you publish your photos, so that I could find your works,
admire them and leave a ♥
Thanks for your honesty.
Wish you pleasant crocheting and smooth loops!

Materials and Tools:
Sport weight/4ply yarn (100g/330m):
Alize Cotton Gold: main color (batik) - 3304 (30 g), black - 60 (10 g) lilac -
116 (5 g)
Also, keep in mind that the yarn consumption will depend on how tightly you
crochet, and may slightly differ from the indicated amount.
Needle for sewing pieces
Hook suitable for your yarn (I used the hook size 1.75 mm)
Stitch marker or contrasting thread
Scissors
Fiberfill
One 8 mm glass cabochon eye
All-purpose glue (I use UHU)
You can choose any yarn that is convenient for you, which matches with
each other in thickness.

Notes
Crochet all rounds in a spiral. No need to do ch at the beginning of the
round and sl st at the end.
You can create different Octopus designs using different types of yarn
and decorative elements (see photos on pages 7-8).
When crocheting toys, I use the "yarn under/over" method, while the
stitches look like crosses and move less to the side. Watch the VIDEO
I recommend that you also use this method to avoid deforming the
octopus head due to shifting stitches in the crochet process.
In order to go to viewing video lessons, you should click on the
highlighted text in the pattern. Make sure you are connected to a network
before watching the video, because it is on my YouTube channel.

Tentacles:
Mark two FLO stitches in 25th round symmetrically under the face at a
distance of 5 stitches between them, as shown in the first photo below.
Turn your toy upside down, join the main color yarn and start to crochet into
the marked stitch on right side.
To avoid holes: after crocheting down the chain make a sl st into the last sc
before chain then continue crocheting into sc of previous round.
You can also see an example of crochet tentacles in the VIDEO
1. 1 sc, ch 41, start in the second chain from the hook: 40 sc, 6 sc in the base
FLO, (ch 41, start in the second chain from the hook: 40 sc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc in the
base FLO)*3, ch 41, start in the second chain from the hook: 40 sc, 6 sc in the
base FLO, (ch 41, start in the second chain from the hook: 40 sc, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc
in the base FLO)*2, ch 41, start in the second chain from the hook: 40 sc, 2 sc,
inc, 1 sc in the base FLO.

In the end of this round you should get 8 tentacles in a distance of 5 sc between
them.
2. ch 4 (skip 4 stitches on the tentacle and continue crocheting in the 5th stitch:
35 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, 35 sc, 1 sl st on the other side of tentacle, skip the last 4
sc and continue crocheting in the stitches of the space between tentacles: 2 tr, 1
dc inc, 2 tr)*8, sl st.
Fasten off end weave in the yarn ends.

Sea star:
Crochet with lilac yarn.
1. 5 sc in a MR (6)
2. (In one stitch: 1 sl st + ch 1 + 1 dc + ch-
3picot + 1 dc + ch 1 + 1 sl st )*5
Fasten off and leave a long tail for
sewing.
Using black yarn, embroider dots on the rays of the star.
Glue the cabochon eye in the center of the star. When the glue dries,
make a few stitches lilac yarn above and below the eye, imitating the
eyelids.

6
@fayni_toys
Sew a star on the head of an octopus.

You can also change the design, by replacing the sea star with beaded
embroidery, as in the photo below.

In the solid black design, I made a few vertical stitches of white yarn under
the face to make it look more like a skull.

An Octopus crocheted from

sectional dyeing yarn will look
great even without decorative
elements.
