- The research introduction discusses a general type of mint leaves and/or
medicinal herbs and its chemical properties that helps in benefitting for human
 health. It gives the meaning and the structure of the mint leaves and what it
contains. While saying the benefits of the mint leaves, the research still stated
that there’s still some application or experimentation to be considered for them to
gain more advantages to use it for treating for current or potential ailment. The
research also gave a preview of research in the field and highlighted the gap
between their studies. By that, the moves 1, 2, and 3 were expressed in an
understandable way. Though, fortunately, they have no claimed problem to the
previous research and used it as a reference for their study instead and for
justifying their objective.

1. How closely do these introductions mirror the structure laid out above? If they deviate, do you
think this was a good decision on the authors’ part? Why or why not?
- Quite close. It’s because most of the researchers follow a format which is the moves 1,
2, and 3 to make the introduction more interesting and give clear and concise sentences
for the audience to understand. When they deviate, it varies if it will be a good decision
on the author’s part depending on the field of their study. If it is known generally or needs
further explanation or elaboration.

2. How is each move expressed? What language helped you identify these moves?
- Each move is expressed authentically. The language that helped us identify the moves
are the commonly used language that indicates a definition, problem, and a claim.

3. Are there some features of these introductions that you would use in your own paper? Any
you would not?
- There are some features of these introductions that we would consider to use in our own
paper that would help develop our choice of words, sentence structure and further
elaborate our claim in the field.

4. How are the citations laid out across the different introductions? In which moves are citations
predominantly used? How can you explain this use?
- The citations are laid out in a different order yet common way. Citations are used
predominantly in sub moves wherein an author will give or introduce the review of
preview research in the field and highlight the gap. This use is crucial for the author’s
part to know what they need to fill in and what they need to discover or develop in their
topic.
