Activity Procedure
I. Warm Up Hello song.
Introductions
A. Listen, point and say.
1. Play Class CD1 Track 02. Have students listen and point
to the conversations and activities in the pictures. Play the

Activity Procedure
As students walk into class, greet them individually with a
cheerful Hello or Hi. Then walk out the door, turn back to

student volunteer to leave the room, wave, and say Good-
bye, class.
Greet the class as a whole. Say Hello, class! or Hi, class!

II. Presentation of Introductions
New Topic A. Listen and say.
1. Use puppet or student volunteers to model the
conversation. Have students repeat each line after you. As
the whole class to wave as they say chorally Good-bye,

2. Have the students look at the pictures and ask them name
the characters and identify the words they already know.
Play class CD1 Track 03 and have students listen to the
conversation. Play the audio again and have students
repeat each line after the characters.
3. Play Class CD1 Track 04 and have students repeat each
line after the characters. Have students use the language to
practice the conversation in two groups. Ask group to
change roles. Use the Contraction Card to show that I am
has the same meaning as I’m.
4. Have students practice the conversation in pairs. Ask
students to change roles so they can practice both.
5. Have students practice the conversation in two groups
and then in pairs.
B. Listen and sing.
1. Play Class CD1 Track 05 and have students repeat words
they recognize from the conversation.
2. Play the song again. Have students clap to keep the beat
as you model the song line by line. Ask students to echo
reads the lines after you.
3. Divide the class into two groups to sing the song.
Encourage students to add gestures and actions to go with
the song lyrics.
4. Have students look at the song pictures and lyrics. Ask
them to point to and read words that they recognize. Help
students identify the phrases that appear more than once.
C. Say and Act. Say hello and good-bye.
1. Use puppets or student volunteers to model the
conversation. Have students to repeat each line after you to
practice pronunciation. Have students take one role while
you take the other, and then switch roles. Have students
practice in two groups and then switch roles.
2. Have student pairs and have them greet each other and
ask how they are. Encourage them to wave and walk away
as they say Good-bye, See you later! Then switch roles.
III. s Games and Use Conversation Lines to practice the conversation Hi,
Activities (Scott). How are you? I’m OK, thanks. How about you?
Pretty good! Good-bye, Scott! See you later! Students move
in opposite directions in the parallel lines.

I. Warm Up Sing the Alphabet Song
Letter Reading
III. Games and Place letter cards in a bag. Have students take turns picking

Activity Procedure
Walk and Talk
Ask students to draw one personal item or classroom object
I. Warm Up on a sheet of paper and write their name beneath it. Have
students place the drawings face up on their desks. Have
student pairs walk to each other’s desks and ask each other
questions about the drawings.
II. Presentation of Introductions
New Topic A. Learn the words.
1. Play Class CD1 Track 23. Have students listen and point
to the pictures of “things” in their books. Play the audio and
let the students repeat the words. Check pronunciation and
intonation.
2. Display Teacher Cards 27-34 around the classroom. Point
to each card quickly as you say its name aloud.
B. Ask and answer.
1. Use a key to introduce have. Hold the key in your hand
and say I have a key. Have. Key. Then play the audio and
ask students to point to each object in the picture as they
listen.
2. Play the audio again and have students repeat the
questions and answers as they point to the pictures.
3. Divide the class into two groups. Have groups take turns
asking and answering the questions. Then have student
change roles.
4. Students take turns asking and answering the question in
pairs.
5. Play Class CD1 Track 25. Have students listen, clap, and
chant along with the audio.
C. Play a game
1.Hold a key in your hand and ask Do you have a key? Nod
your head as you say Yes, I do. Then ask Do you have a
tissue? And shake your head no as you say No, I don’t.
2. Play Class CD1 Track 26. Have students point to the
questions and answers they hear.
3. Have students play the board game in pairs. Students roll
a die and move their marker that number of spaces. Have
them ask and answer questions about the object they land
on.
D. Listen, point, and chant.
1.Have students look at the picture. Point to the books in the
boy’s bag and ask What are these? Let’s count them.
Repeat this with the candy bar in the girl’s bag.
2. Play Class CD1 track 19. Have the students point to the
objects in the picture as they listen.
3. Model the sentences line by line. Have students clap to
keep the rhythm as they repeat after you.
4. Play the audio again and have students chant along.
Say It
III. Games and Have small groups of students place Student Cards 27-34 in
Activities a line. Say Go! S1 starts at one end of the cards and says I
have a (key), I have…S2 starts right after S1 and so on.
When all students have finished, rearrange the cards and
start again.
IV. Extra Practice Let’s Go workbook 2, p. 12-13
Have students to this for homework or in class.
