ACTIVITY TITLE:Seminar - Workshop on Playing Ukulele: An Effective Instructional Material in


Teaching Elementary Pupils

RATIONALE:

Music plays a vital role in the teaching-learning process specially in the elementary grades. It sets
the mood of the class as well as breaks the monotony ambiance of the classroom. The third-year BEED
students would like to have training on playing Ukulele. The proponent desires to provide and equip the
would-be teachers with a deeper knowledge and understanding of the importance of using a string
instrument (Ukulele) in teaching young learners specially in the transition from one period to another,
one topic to another or from one part of the lesson in a well-ordered, fun-filled and lively way of
teaching with the help of the different topics that will be discussed in the three-day activity.

OBJECTIVES:

a. Orient participants on the Basics of playing Ukulele.


b. Gain an understanding of the importance of music in facilitating learning in elementary class.
c. Develop knowledge and skills on Ukulele as one of the mediums of instruction.
d. Practice the acquired knowledge in the actual or in teaching demonstrations.

Greetings!

The third-year BEED students will have training on playing Ukulele on January 13 – 15,
2024 at the covered gym of our school. The training desires to provide and equip the would-be
teachers with a deeper knowledge and understanding of the importance of using a string
instrument (Ukulele) in teaching young learners specially in the transition from one period to
another, one topic to another or from one part of the lesson in a well-ordered, fun-filled and
lively way of teaching.

With this, we humbly request the following materials/facilities/equipment to be used


during the said training:

a. 250 chairs (or only the available number of chairs)


b. 6 tables
c. sound system (with microphone, music player, or connector)
d. available materials for simple decoration (cloth, flowers, leaves etc.)
e. projector (only if available)
f. extension wires

We promise to take good care of the said materials and hold liable for any loss or damage
that may incur due to our negligence.
