- Wind energy -
- Wind energy describes the process by which wind is used to generate electricity.
Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This
mechanical power can be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping
water) or a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity.
- Wind energy is produced by Windmills.
- Wind energy is kinetic type of energy.
- Wind energy is renewable source of power.
- Wind energy is pollution free energy.
 - Wind
- Advantages -
The main advantages include an
unlimited, free, renewable resource
(the wind itself), economic value,
maintenance cost, and placement of
wind harvesting facilities. First and
foremost, wind is an unlimited, free,
renewable resource.

- Disadvantages -
The two major disadvantages of wind
power include initial cost and
technology immaturity. Firstly,
constructing turbines and wind
facilities is extremely expensive. The
second disadvantage is technology
immaturity and wind is not
everywhere needed.
Windmills
- Wind mills -
- Windmill is a structure that converts wind power into rotational energy.
- Windmill has big fan of big blades attached to big poles in higher places.
- To the shaft of blades a dynamo is attached .
- The mechanical energy produced by the rotation of windmill will be converted into
electrical energy because of dynamo.
- Electrical energy of these windmills are pollution free, it causes no harm to the
environment.

windmills -
- The first practical windmills were
in use in Sistan, a region in Iran and
bordering Afghanistan, at least by
the 9th century and possibly as early
as the mid-to-late 7th century.
- In India 1986, the first wind power
is set up at Ratnagiri in
Maharashtra, Okha in Gujarat,
and Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu.
