II. Objectives
At the end of the day, students will be able to:
1. Read and understand the article about mixtures and substances.
2. Familiarize some scientific terms in the article and give their meaning.
3. Write sentences using the select scientific terms.

III. Learning Materials

 Printed reading article with questionnaire.

IV. Procedure
1. Distribute the reading material to students.
2. Let students find these words in the article and discuss the meaning of
each word;
a. components – ingredient/unit
b. proportion – a part or share
c. homogeneous – uniform throughout
d. heterogeneous – not uniform throughout
e. retain – continue to have
f. properties – assets/personality

g. identified – recognize/distinguish

h. boiling point – temperature at which a liquid boils.

3. Read the article to students, loud and clear.
4. Let students read the article together.

V. Evaluation
1. Let students answer the questions below the article

3. Perform item analysis
4. Let students identify their current reading profile and update their
progress chart.

Make a sentence using one of the vocabulary words on a ¼ sheet of paper
