Creating Zones and Color Schemes

Exercise 12
1. Start Revit 2019

2. Open the file Exercise_12.rvt

3. Go to Coordination / Coordination / Floor Plans / 00 Ground – Spaces

4. Duplicate the current view with Detailing, and rename it 00 Ground – Zones

5. Start Visibility / Graphics command, click the plus sign beside HVAC Zones, and
turn on Interior Fill, and Reference Lines

6. Start Zone command, and select all corridors along with the staircase, click ()
to end the command. While the zone is selected, from Properties call it 0-1

7. Start Zone command again, this time select all offices (twelve of them), and call
the zone 0-2

8. Zone 0-3 will be the two Manager’s Offices

9. Zone 0-4 will be the Cafeteria, Gents Room, and Ladies Room

10. Select Zone 0-1, and using the context tab, click Edit Zone, and add the Electrical
Room, click () to end the command

11. Start System Browser, select to display Zones, check the four zones you created
and if you include all the spaces as required

12. Go back to 00 Ground – Zones view. From Properties click Color Scheme
button, from Category select HVAC Zones, then select Schema1, click OK to
end the command. Insert Color Fill Legend

13. Go to 00 Ground – Spaces, click Color Scheme button, from Category select
Spaces, then select Schema1. Turn off Plenum 0, 1, C01-01, C01-02,
Reception, to be visible, click OK to end the command. Insert Color Fill Legend

14. If you have time do First floor as well

15. Save and close the file
