Modify and Control Spaces

Exercise 11
1. Start Revit 2019

2. Open the file Exercise_11.rvt

3. You are at Coordination / Coordination / 00 Ground - Spaces

4. Create a section, which cuts Cafeteria, Gents Room, and Ladies Room.
Change the depth of the section to be inside the walls of Cafeteria

5. From Project Browser rename the name of the section to Cafeteria & Toilets.
Set the Sub-Discipline to Coordination

6. Go to the new section

7. Start Visibility / Graphics, and turn on the Spaces / Interior

8. We want to create a Plenum level for the Ground floor. Go to Architecture tab,
locate Datum panel, and click Level command. From Properties change the
type to Plenum. Using Options bar, click Plan View Types button, turn off all
types except Coordination Plan, and from Draw panel, click Pick Lines tool,
pick the upper edge of the ceiling. Rename the level to Plenum 0, and answer
Yes to the question

9. For this view, under Coordination, set the Sub-Discipline to Coordination

10. Go to Plenum 0 view

11. Start View Range command, and set Cut Plane = 150mm

12. Start Space command, from Properties set Limit Offset = 1300mm, and click at
the middle of the building. Rename the new Space Plenum 0

13. Go back to Cafeteria & Toilets section view, and see how the new space filled
the height between ceiling and floor

14. Go to Coordination / Coordination / 00 Ground – Spaces, create a section cutting

both Manager’s Office 102, and Corridor 121

15. From Project Browser rename the name of the section to East Wing. Set the
Sub-Discipline to Coordination

16. Go to the new section, and turn on the Space Interior colors

17. You can notice, that Corridor 224 space is extending to the floor and not to the
ceiling. Change the space offset to be 2700

18. Create Plenum 1 as we did in the ground floor

19. Go to Plenum 1 view

20. Start View Range command, and set Cut Plane = 150mm

21. Start Space command, from Properties set Limit Offset = 1300mm, and click at
the middle of the building. Rename the new Space Plenum 1

22. Go back to Cafeteria & Toilets section, to see that everything is in order.

23. Save and close the file
