Presentation of New Lesson

The pools are composed of totals and depth of each where mathematical operation
was in the used particularly the addition and subtraction. As shown in the illustration
below, it shows how many pools and how deep the pools are there in Monte
Vicenteau.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE:
Based on the construction of the pools, there are one (1) for the toddlers and two (2)
for the adults (pool A and pool B). Which were in the total of three (3) pools, each of
this pools has its depth or prescribed feet. The pools for adults were both has four
(4) and five (5) feet. While the pools for toddlers has two (2) and (3) feet. The pools
depth were divided, the half of the adults pools were four (4) feet and other half has
five (5) feet. On the other hand, the toddler’s pool was in division of two (2) feet and
three (3) feet.
Therefore, the pools were in total of three including the one pool for toddlers. If we
don’t include the toddler’s pool, thus there are only two of it, the pool A and pool B.
Hence, the total depth or feet of three pools were twenty three (23), where the adults
pools has a total feet of nineteen (19) a combination of two (2) four feet and two (2)
five feet and the toddlers five (5) feet, combination of two and three feet.
Group activity entitled “COMPLETE, COUNT, AND ADD”
A. Performance objective
At the end of the lesson the learner/s should be able to:
a. Explain the steps involved in adding two numbers.
b. Demonstrate strategies and teamwork in performing the said activity; and
c. Show appreciation of the importance of addition in everyday life as they
perform the activity.
B. Materials: Cut pictures, bond paper, and white glue.
C. Procedure
a. The group members are going to stick together the cut picture by the used
of white glue. The picture must be in a very clear description of what it
should be, thus the group members should make sure that the picture is in
a clean and fine state.
b. The illustration of the picture they are assigned to complete should be
similar to the original picture.
c. After completing the picture, the group member will count how many cut
that the picture has and they are going to add it together.
D. Value integration
1. Is it important to learn mathematical operation particularly addition? What
is the importance of addition in everyday life?
2. How the group activity “Complete, Count, and Add” cultivated the
knowledge of learners in building teamwork, counting and adding number?
CRITERIA IN PERFORMING “COMPLETE, COUNT, AND ADD”
1. Counting and Adding (50 %) - The group members must perform the counting
and adding of the cut picture.
2. Precision (30 %) – The picture must be in alike with the original picture.
3. Cleanliness (20 %) – The picture must be in a clean and fine state to compare
with the original picture.

The Monte Vicenteau Resort were composed of three classification of cottages. The
“kubo”, “large cottage”, and “standard cottage”. As shown in the illustration below, it
shows the design of the cottages.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE:
The cottages were categorized into three, there are the called “kubo”, the large
cottage and the standard cottage. There are thirty seven (37) kubos, four (4) large
cottages and sixteen (16) standard cottages. Therefore, the total cottages that the
resort has was fifty seven. Thus, if the kubo were subtracted to the category of
cottages there will be only twenty (20) total of cottages. The twenty cottages were all
designed similarly to each other.
Group activity entitled “DEFINE, COUNT, AND SUBTRACT”
A. Performance objective
At the end of the lesson the learner/s should be able to:
a. Explain the steps involved in subtracting one number from another.
b. Students will have the opportunity to work in a group setting to build
confidence in their math skills in performing the activity; and
c. Show appreciation of the importance of the subtraction in everyday life.
B. Materials: Pictures, paper and pen.
C. Procedure
a. The group members will identify the picture, either of “kubo”, “large
cottage”, and “standard cottage”.
b. They are going to count the total of cottages that they get.
c. After counting, they will solve the subtraction problem in regards to the
pictures.
D. Value integration
a. Is it important to define the concept of value integration of subtraction,
which involves understanding the meaning of subtraction in real-world
situations?
b. How the group activity “Define, Count, and Subtract” cultivated the
knowledge of learners in building teamwork, counting and adding number?

CRITERIA IN PERFORMING “COMPLETE, COUNT, AND ADD”

1. Counting and Subtracting (50 %) - The group members must perform the
counting and subtract the problem accurately.
2. Defining (30 %) – The group members must defined the picture accurately.
3. Teamwork (20 %) – The group member must show cooperation and
teamwork.
