One of the first things a person notices in other people is the way they are dressed.

Therefore, he
tends to judge them by their clothes and to immediately form impressions of them which are often
false. In my opinion, one cannot learn a lot about people by their clothing because it can be
misleading and in most cases it does not tell anything about their character.

To begin with, making fast judgments about people based on the clothes they wear may be tricky
because one cannot know the reason why they decided to dress in a certain way. Many people
follow trends and wear clothes which are considered to be trendy and fashionable. They do not have
their own style and depend on designers and stylists to choose their clothing for them. For this
reason, they all look the same and lose their individuality. Also, people may dress in a certain way
because of a special occasion. For example, if one wears peculiar clothes, other people may think
that this person is weird and crazy, but the clothing may just be a part of a play or a Halloween
costume.

Furthermore, clothing does not help a person learn anything about people's personalities. One
can only form opinions about their personal traits by getting to know them and seeing how they
behave in different situations. People tend to decide on whether to like a person or not judging by
their appearance. For instance, if one always wears black gothic clothes, other people may think that
he is unfriendly and rude, but in reality he may turn out to be a very polite and kind person. What is
more, even if two people have the same style of clothing, this does not mean that they will get on
well. There might be some more important differences in moral values and beliefs which will have a
negative effect on their relationship.

In conclusion, the clothes people wear does not give much information about them because they
often create false impressions. This is why one should not judge people by their clothing and he
should get to know them first before forming an overall opinion about them.
