Semi-detailed Lesson Plan 10


I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:
a. define percentiles;
b. identify the formula to be used and use it in identifying percentiles;
d. apply the idea of percentiles in real life situation.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: Understanding Percentiles| UNGROUPED DATA
Materials: Whiteboard and Markers
Reference: MATH BUILDERS 10 | PERCENTILES, YOUTUBE
III. PROCEDURES
A. Preliminary Activities
 Prayer
The teacher asks one student to lead the prayer.
 Greetings
The teacher greets everyone.
 Checking of attendance
The teacher checks the attendance of the students.
 Review
The teacher asks the students about what are the topics being
discussed last meeting.
B. Lesson Proper
A. Activity
The teacher presents a game called “The boat is sinking”
 The teacher will start the game with the words “The Boat is
Sinking”
 The students will divide the group equally base on whatever
number the teacher tell them.
 Students who weren’t able to join a group is eliminated
B. Analysis
1. What did you notice on our activity earlier?
2. Last topic on deciles, we divide the data into 10 equal parts, today
we will discuss the percentiles. Where do you think we will divide
the data to?
C. Abstraction
The Percentile of Ungrouped Data
Percentiles are the 99 score points that divide the distribution into
one hundred equal parts. They are Denoted as P1, P25, P50… D99.
To easily locate the deciles, we use the formula:

Find the 50th Percentile or P50 of the following test scores of a
random sample of ten students:
