INTERNSHIP REGULATIONS

1. Pedagogical internship is a type of learning activity that focuses on reinforcing

students' theoretical knowledge, as well as on gaining and developing practical skills
and competencies during the period of pedagogical activity. Pedagogical internship is
an essential part of postgraduate educational program.
2. Throughout the period of pedagogical internship, students must adhere to the
university's internal regulations and meet all requirements of the internship program.
3. Students may neither leave or extend their internship voluntarily during their
internship.
4. According to the internship program's requirements, students are required to submit a
report on the pedagogical internship at the end of the internship.
5. The following procedure should be accompanied when filling out a diary of
pedagogical internship:
a) the diary should be filled in daily according to the internship dates;
b) the diary should be checked weekly by the supervisor;
b) all task completed by student should be recorded in the diary;
c) pedagogical internship diary, signed by the practice supervisor, along with the
practice report, should be submitted to the department.
6. Without the Pedagogical Internship Diary, the internship report will not be accepted.
7. A committee reviews the internship report. The committee's members shall be
approved by the department.
8. During the internship, students are required to attend at least 2-3 classes on their
major taught by undergraduate instructors and to conduct two classes (1 class if the goal
is achieved).
9. Students are required to attend activities (conferences, seminars, round tables, and so
on) organized by the department, faculty or university.

WRITTEN LOG

Date A summary of the tasks that has been completed Mentor’s comment
30.01 I participated in the lecture given by Halit
Yilmaz to 2nd year students. Lecture topic
“Concentration concept".
01.02 I participated in the practical lesson conducted by
Gulmira Bekenova for 3rd year students. The
topic of the practical lesson is "Electrochemical
cells". The students defended their work and in
the second lesson with the help of the teacher the
laboratory work was done in the practice class.
06.02 I conducted an open class for 2nd year students.
Open lesson topic "Normality. Molality".

30.01 Lectructor: Halit Yilmaz The lecturer came to the lecture hall. He
Topic: “Normality” greeted the first students and started a
dialogue with them for 2-3 minutes. As
this was the first lesson of this semester,
the lecturer introduced himself, the
subject and the evaluation criteria to the
students. After creating a comfortable
atmosphere for classes with students, he
started his lecture. The topic of the lecture
was "Normality". Before starting this
topic, students were reminded of the topic
of concentration.During the lecture, the
lecturer used the method of explanation.
He used to ask questions to students in
order to provoke thought. A presentation
was used as a visual tool. I think it helped
the students to understand the lecture very
well. During the explanation of the
lecture, every word of Mr. Khalit was
clear and understandable, his tone of
voice was pleasant. The lecturer behaved

confidently and freely, his pedagogical
professional knowledge was visible.
During the lecture, students were very
active and could freely ask questions they
did not understand. The lecture was
summed up by providing feedback on the
knowledge gained by students.
01.02 Instructor: Gulmira Bekenova In the first lesson the 3 rd year students
Topic: "Electrochemical cells" defended their project work about
“galvanic cells” for 20 min. The next
group defended the “Redox” topic for
another 20 minutes. After that the teacher
gives constructive feedback for group
members. In the 2nd lesson the teacher
sends the link to the lab work video. After
watching the video the students retell the
steps of the lab work. And the teacher
demonstrated the lab work to the
students.
I really liked the way that teachers
conducted the lesson. Specially for the
visual learners the video was the best
decision.

When the students observe the instructor's lesson, they must consider the following:
1) the lesson's organization stage;
2) the topic's comprehensive disclosure in the lesson;
3) the instructor's creativity;
4) the lesson's methodological support;
5) the lesson's connection of theory and practice;
6) the instructor's oral language skills;
7) the ability to communicate with the audience and receive feedback;
8) the students’ activity;
9) instructor's competence;
10) the lesson's summary stage.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE OPEN SESSION

(Objective, theory, method adopted, illustration, and session notes. Each student is
responsible for filling out the outline for the open lesson)
Me and Zhibekaiym conducted the lecture "Normality" to 2nd year students of the
Faculty of Chemistry. We prepared the lecture materials in advance for the lecture. We
made a presentation that consisted of theoretical and practical parts of the topic. We
came to the lecture hall early for the lecture. Before starting the lesson, Mr. Yilmaz
introduced us to the students. Instead of starting with a new topic we asked several
questions to the audience to grab their attention. Students responded very actively.We
also did the review of the previous topic by solving problems. After the little warm up
we jumped to the main topic. As our topic was another unit of concentration that was
easier to explain with the connection of previous. In order to confirm the knowledge, we
prepared example problems for the students. At the end of the lesson, Mr. Halit
explained the topics that were not fully revealed.

Characteristics to the master student and evaluation of his\her work
(to be completed by the internship supervisor)

(His/her theoretical preparation, quality of work, labour discipline and internship

results should be mentioned)

During the internship period master student Akbope Aidos proved to be well- attended
in all the arranged lessons. She explained concentration and normality in quantitative
chemistry for a short time period. She clearly presented the relevant theories and their
teaching methods. She included practice problems with guidance to calculate normality
concentrations. The lesson structure was well-organized, with slides followed by hands-
on exercises. While slides were used effectively, incorporating problem solving would
enhance student participation. The large classroom setting and lecture format limited
opportunities for interactive activities. Despite the limitations, the student instructor
delivered a good lesson. The score is to be 95.
