Back of the House(BOH)
INTRODUCTION ASAP

The back of house team keeps things running smoothly behind the
scenes. They have minimal guest contact, either working in offices
separate from guest areas or in guestrooms when the guests are out.
Back of house (BOH) employees usually work during normal business
hours.

• Food Production, Purchasing and Receiving

• The laundry room

• Marketing and sales

• Accounting

• Security systems

• Engineering and maintenance


KITCHEN ASAP

Kitchen is the center of all food preparation and production. In the Kitchen,
food and other items are:-
1) Received,
2) Stored,
3) Prepared and
4) Plated for services

Dishes and other items are cleaned and stored in the kitchen. Back of the
House staff consists of :-

• Managers

• Cleaning staff

• Food production staff


MANAGERS ASAP

• Hotel: Responsible for managing, coordinating, staffing, directing, and


controlling the hotel's services. They also ensure that hotel facilities,
such as accommodation, conference rooms, catering, and sports
amenities, are operational and safe.
• Front office: Responsible for maintaining a professional work
environment, staff management, and providing administrative support.
• Food and beverage: Manages the department of food and beverages
in the hotel. Keep the check on the quality and satisfaction of the client.
• Human Resource: Handles any person working in the hotel. They also
hire, upgrade, and allocate the right person for the right task.
• Finance: The primary functions of the manager is to perform accounting
and reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash
receipts, cash management and investments in the department.
• Marketing and sales: The marketing and sales department in a hotel
is responsible for increasing revenue. They do this by developing
strategies and business plans to increase revenue from areas such
as: Room occupancy, Event spaces, Leisure facilities, Restaurants
LAUNDRY SERVICE ASAP

The hotel laundry service


is responsible for washing,
cleaning, ironing, and folding
all the linen used in the hotel,
including bed sheets,
pillowcases, towels,
bathrobes, and other fabrics.
The hotel laundry service
ensures that all the linen is
hygienic, clean, and odor-free.
As per NBC the water
requirement will be provided
as per the actual requirement
(usage) in the Hotel.
