ECO Club Movie Screening & Panel Discussion on Food Venue: Room 903, NTUC Centre (One Marina Boulevard) Date: 22 Feb 2012 Time: 6.30pm - 10pm Overview ECO Club aims to create a community among ECO Singapore members via fun and educational activities. Through such activities, we hope that we will keep the passion burning in these volunteers. At the same time, we open these activities to the public to give them a sneak preview into the social and environmental issues we face. Overview of Movie & Panel Discussion on Food 30 participants turned up for this event. The first participants arrived at 6.30pm. We had a short warm-up activity from 6.30 6.45pm to ask some thought-provoking questions. The movie screening started at 7pm and lasted till 8.30pm. This was followed by a talk from Mr Low Chee Khoon on the environmental effects of livestock farming and an introduction to the Singapore Soup Kitchen project by Mr Woon Tien Wei. From 9pm till 10pm, we had a lively panel discussion with the audience openly sharing their viewpoints.

Feedback Based on the feedback collected after the programme, most of the participants started to reflect upon what is in their food and where it comes from. Most of the participants also pledged to eat vegetarian at least once a week, and to share what they learnt with their peers. It was felt that in future, more time could be given for audience interaction. Partnering Organisations: ECO Clubs movie screening and panel discussion would not be possible without the continuous support from our partner organisations through the opportunity and resources they provided.
